Hello Everyone,

I am Chemistry major. I am currently working on my class schedules for the whole semesters I'll be spending here in community college. I need some feedback on the schedules I have concluded so far:

Summer 2013: (units)
1. Differential Equations (currently taking) (4)

Fall 2013: (units) (12)
1. Calculus III (5)
2. Linear Algebra (3)
3. Physics I (4)

Spring 2014: (units) (12)
1. Physics II (4)
2. Physics III (4)
3. A course that will make me a fulltime student (4)*

Fall 2014:
1. General Biology (5)
2. Statistics (4)
3. A course that will make me a fulltime student (3)

Spring 2015:
1. Zoology (5)
2. Botany (5)
3. A course that will make me a fulltime student (2-3)

I really cant change this schedule plan. This is due to financial aid purposes. I need everybody's opinion about this. I want to know if they are doable and possible to get A's. I just don't want to expect too much. However, I am willing to do the work and work more if needed. I also want to know what possible courses I can take in those semester where I needed to fill up the remaining units.

*in Spring 2014 semester, I cannot take any GE course (due to financial aid reason again). I am thinking a science course like qualitative chemistry (5) but it would mean that I'll have three lectures and laboratories in that semester. -- CRAZY!!

Out of curiosity, if you’re a Chem major, why are you taking more than a semester off of Chem classes? I would certainly add a Chem class as the one that would make you a full-time student.
I would be concerned about taking Physics II and III at the same time, are you sure you’ll be able to handle sequential course at the same time? I’m also concerned that all of your courses are in the sciences, you don’t have much to provide balance (not that I can speak with all my courses being in various language fields).
Without know how you’ve done before I don’t think anyone can guarantee you’ll get A’s, but if you work hard and make sure you have BALANCE I’m sure you’ll do your best.

Thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention that I am done with Chemistry series (both General and Organic). The only remaining chemistry course that I can take is Qualitative Chemistry which is not a requirement in most UC (I think only in Berkeley).

I have also asked a Physics professor about taking Physics II (Electricity and Magnetism) and Physics III (Heat, Waves, Light and Modern Physics) at the same time. He said that I can take these at the same time since one is not needed to learn the other. He also mentioned that this will be challenging though and does not encourage to take more science class (especially with lab). I am also done with GE courses.

What do you think about the others - Linear Algebra and Calculus III; Zoology and Botany???
