Class Time Scheduling?

Should I not schedule something like Calc Disc 9:30-11 am, then immediately afterwards have something like Pols 2 11-12:30. Is that a bad idea or will the Calc Discussion GSI excuse us like 15 minutes before 11 to go to our next thing? Thanks..

the calso website says "classes start ten minutes after the listed time (aka, “Berkeley time”) so you can usually schedule classes back-to-back."

If the calso website says "classes" start ten min after listed time, what about labs and discussion sections?

is it recommended to take discussions back to back or on the same day with its respective class? Or spaced out the next day?

^personal preference. some people think it's good to have them on the same day, so the material is fresh, others think it is good to have the on other days, so that you're continually reviewing.

ANd scheduling classes back to back largely depends on where the buildings are. If your next class is on the other side of campus, it will be hard to get there in 10 minutes. And, from what I know, berkeley time applies to all classes: lecs and discussions.

You always get 10 minutes to walk from class to class. So taking two classes back to back isn't a problem in terms of traveling.

The only problem about scheduling back to back classes is getting there in 10 minutes. Don't do something stupid like going from GPB to Haas, you definitely won't make it in time.

last semester i did 9 hours of class back-to-back-to-back and it was fine. personally i love not having any gaps...minimizes the time i waste on campus

If classes start 10 minutes late, don't they end 10 minutes late? Or are 1 hour classes only 50 minutes long, and 90 minute classes only 80 minutes long?

ooh good observation~! bump
