1) Is there any kind of waitlist I can sign up on? Can you please explain the process.

2) If there's not a waitlist, how can I get in if a class opens up? Do I just need to check the online schedule of classes each day and pray for an opening?

There are no wait lists: it’s first come, first served. Right now, keep checking for openings on Oasis to see if you can get a spot in the classes you want. You can register online at Oasis now if you find opening for class. Registration I think is open until the last weekend just before classes start for spring semester–keep checking for openings.

If you don’t find an opening before semester starts, physically go to the class you want to get in the first scheduled class, get to the class early and go right up to the professor and tell him/her you want to get in class. When the roll is taken the first class, anyone not there is supposed to be dropped from class–the professor can sign you up on the spot if there are no shows. After you tell the professor you are looking for spot in class, sit in a seat right in front of him taking notes and looking like you are on the ball, he might let you in anyway. If you still can’t get in class, just keep checking for openings during drop/add period.
