My daughter is waitlisted at Clemson. Anyone else?
Yes, mine is too.
Is she willing to wait it out? We are going for it with a ton of hope??
I was waitlisted and put my name in already. I really love the school and probably would have gone had I been offered admission. does anyone have any insight as to whether it is harder for certain majors to get off the waitlist? I applied nursing and I know it is competitive. Also what are the odds we are offered fall 2020? any info would be appreciated!!
My son got in yesterday BUUTTT, his best friend, who has better stats than my son, was waitlisted! They are both devastated. His friend is OOS so Clemson was going to be a huge expense, but they have their hearts set on CU. Like each of you I would love info: mainly - are certain majors more likely to come off waitlist. (He is prebusiness) Does waitlist mean zero aid?
Waitlisted also
Waitlisted also. Out of State.
Waitlisted also. Many tears!! Nervous that the letter says decision by June 1. Does anyone know the stats/likelihood of moving off waitlist to accepted? Can only find 2018 stats.
I was given these stats by someone on the clemson 2024 thread…
Here are the numbers;
2018
2,715 offered waitlist, 1,153 accepted waitlist offer and of those 449 admitted (38% got off and admitted)
2017
2,649 offered waitlist, 924 accepted waitlist and of those 876 admitted (94% got off and admitted)
2016
1,794/659/3 (.004%)
2015
2,249/790/723 (92%)
2014
2418/895/10 (.01%)
I do not know the stats of 2019, but one of my friends who is a freshman there now knows many who had gotten off the waitlist. Just hoping this year is one of the lucky ones. Also, as far as timing, when looking at other threads from previous years people seemed to hear april/may.
Thanks Y’all! Any knowledge of if getting off the waitlist has to do with major? We had heard that certain majors were ‘unlimited’, so I am curious. The process is painful!!! We waited until April 1st for our oldest son only to hear bad news. Here’s hoping things are much better this go round!
Waitlisted. OOS.
Hi there! I’ve heard straight from the CU Admin office that the waitlist is random. Does not have anything to do with majors. They also said that waitlist could go 4 different ways; bridge, fall 2020, January 2020 and/or summer bound program. Depends on the need of Clemson. Will not hear until at least April but most likely by June 1.
RE: 2019…CU told us yesterday that many did get in off of waitlist but went ONLY to bridge program.
My opinion could be wrong but I believe more will get in off of waitlist this year. It seems to alternate years bc possibly CU allows for the system to correct itself. Why have a waitlist program if no one gets in and numbers are crazy low? They also allow for a huge number on waitlist.
i was waitlisted too- may start a waitlist group chat off the facebook
My son also waitlisted. We are OOS and he applied as a Business Major w/ 3.75 UW GPA and 1280 SAT. Some years the waitlist stats look promising; other years, not so much. I spoke to admissions today and they said June 1 notification date was pretty firm. I’d be interested to know if anyone hears differently.
So I saw in past years that students were accepted on waitlist as early as April 4. I believe that was in 2018.
I got waitlisted also. Do they really take till June to reply back? I’ve heard you have to declare by May 1st. I want to go to Clemson, but if I don’t get off the waitlist, my other options will go away.
I’ve heard they reply early, but you would have to but a deposit down for another school, then wait for Clemson to reach out. You would lose your money for the school you deposited to if you get into Clemson, either way it’s a win lose situation.
Yes she is. She is keeping her fingers crossed. This is her #1 school.
does anyone know the chance of getting off the waitlist for fall 2020 admission? it is my number 1 school still, it’s just way less attractive if I have to put a deposit down to another school, lose that money, and then be bridged, or have to do a late start (summer program isn’t even an option for me)
