Clemson Acceptance letters?

What is up with these acceptance letters I am hearing of?? It is November and letters aren’t supposed to be sent until mid February so I’m somewhat annoyed that people are already getting theirs. I don’t understand why they are notifying those with the highest ACT scores first… seems kind of unfair to me. Why doesn’t Clemson follow the fair route of letting everyone know at the same time like 95% of colleges do? Can someone explain this or at least share their thoughts on this wack process? I understand that it has to do with the scholarship but still, why send them out 1. so much earlier than the official date and 2. to only those with the highest scholarship offer? After doing research it seems like they did this last year too. The second round of lower tier ACT scores will be notified within the next month, probably early to mid December. This would be the 30 to 32 ACT score range I believe. I’m glad they are sending them out earlier than February 15th because that is crazily late but I wish they would not have lied about this date. They should send out an email now saying be on the lookout for these early notifications as some may come out before February 25th. If I got one now, I would be so confused because they said it would be another 3 months. Anyways, they need to communicate better and also need to make things more fair. Disappointed in you, Clemson.

My son made a 32 on his ACT and he still has not heard as of today! He’s a Palmetto Fellow and it seems that most of the other Palmetto Fellows heard very early too.

@picrawf , see the thread of Way to Tell Early. Maybe you can use the XID number to see what happens?

My daughter is also a Fellows and just got her acceptance today.

Same here. Palmetto Fellows and got accepted today.

My daughter scored a 33 on her ACT and still hasn’t heard. I don’t understand why some and not others. At least have some kid of formula or rational.

The formula or rational all depends on the major they choose. Each major has a limited number of spots. So, one could have a low SAT (1100 range) and get accepted yet another may have a 1450 and get denied. Most likely that they applied to different majors.

@NurseAng All letters have been mailed.Yours is in the mail or perhaps delayed by the mail. Give it a few days and then call if it doesn’t arrive.
