Don’t know about all of the schools. But College of Charleston is everyone in Virginia’s safety school. My kids friends who go there say it’s so easy…even in the honor’s program. Don’t know any kid denied admission.

From Virginia, Clemson has gotten harder to get in to as is Elon. Tech has an excellent Engineering program, and I think is a very good school. For even in State, one must have over a 3.6 and over 1200 SAT to even consider Virginia Tech.

Really, they’re all pretty comparable. Different strengths in different areas of course. For example, some people think that Indiana ranks ahead of Juilliard as the top performing arts school in the country.

VT also has some of the best programs in the country in areas of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation (Natural Resources). From what I can tell as a lifelong Virginia resident, they are really trying to broaden their appeal and are becoming much more than an engineering school- the sciences are really taking off. They now have (as of this summer) accreditation for the state of Virginia’s newest med school: The Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute. Pretty cool stuff going on out in Blacksburg!

Personally, I think Clemson and VT’s board of trustees have shown great vision and are putting their schools in position to offer their students tremendous educations- especially for state school price tags.

Go with Elon. Its future is bright. Remember Clemson has half the undergrad population of VT, FSU, IU, and Maryland so you might want to give them another look.

yea i visited clemson… i jsut thought it was a little to southern for a northern raised kid like me. Im not sure though… I am visiting a good friend down there when school starts again
