Clemson Class of 2021 - RD

Last year an ACT of 32 was needed for the higher level scholarship.

32 gave $10,000. They said 33 or higher for $15,000 and that was the most they gave.

Any idea what the scholarship thresholds were for SAT scores as opposed to ACT?

@ccawealthofinfo I believe over 1400 SAT was needed for a higher award.

Thanks @carolinamom2boys my child just missed, 31 ACT, 1390 SAT. Wonder if they would be willing to bring it up to $10K if we asked for a second look. Lots of AP’s, sports, part-time jobs, etc.

@ccawealthofinfo When they distribute scholarship money, we were told it is based on stats and rank. ECs are not considered. I guess you could ask for a second look, but I’m not sure if they would reconsider . What you are describing in terms of ECs, APs, sports, etc is very typical of other applicants to Clemson.

Does anyone know if they will reevaluate scholarship monies for scores reported after being accepted? My daughter has been accepted but is taking the ACT and SAT again. If they will not award additional monies if she scores above the higher threshold then she may not them again.

In state, still waiting to hear. 1440 SAT, 31 ACT, 3.15 GPA UW

They have now changed the threshold for 1450 on the new SAT.

My daughter is still waiting to hear, does anyone know how many applicants they accept for freshman? I’ve heard they had over 24,000 applications.

Last year they had about 21,000 and accepted around 10,000 @kaylamissy

My daughter is still waiting on Clemson so she can make up her mind. I’m so ready for this to be over!!

I am not sure how accurate this information is, but I have heard that they have gotten about 28,000 applications but are planning on accepting the same number as they have in years past. Once again not sure how accurate the info is, but it makes sense because the school got so much attention from the National Championship.

My counselor says they should be coming in the mail today or tomorrow!

@bostonloaf that would be great but i was thinking it would be next week.

@kaylamissy I was too, but my counselor has a good relationship with the admissions board at Clemson and says he got an email that the letters were being mailed out this weekend and should be here within the next few days. Of course, when you get them will depend on how far you live from the campus!

No letter today :frowning:

My OOS received the same brochure and I had high hopes until I read it. Fingers crossed!!

@Amber69 Same, OOS S received same brochure today - we had about of foot of snow yesterday so no mail. It just looks like a standard brochure on clubs etc though. Not very indicative of acceptance :frowning:

A very strong chance decisions will come out next week
