As a Hispanic student, I got a personal letter from a Latina staff member at clemson. Today in iROAR I was awarded a diversity scholarship… no orange carpet though. Very nice of them regardless!

Ugh! I’m proud of my D for giving up her spot immediately once she decided to go w/her #1 school this week, with hopes it will allow someone else in from the waitlist. But the neurotic, need-to-atleast-know! parent in me wants to ring her neck for withdrawing 1 DAY before financial aid pkgs were finally released!! Lol! So now we’ll never know, but I’d still love to hear if there are any instances in which anyone OOS got unexpectedly amazing fin aid that was a game-changer for your student??

Did her initial acceptance say she was getting a scholarship?
Only Loans here. No Awards. Acceptance letter did not indicate a scholarship and Fin Aid office informed me that if the letter did not say scholarship, then none would be coming. So, no surprises here.
I’m assuming if you only see loans that you’re not getting a scholarship? for another school I didn’t receive any scholarships and mine was just loan offers.
My OOS state D has already committed and did get a scholarship, but nothing that knocked our socks off!

No merit award.
honestly… they truly give barely any money 1-1.5k per year? we’re lucky if that covers fees lol
D accepted OOS EA, but scholarship didn’t knock our socks off either

Did people get an email about their financial aid packages? My D21 got an acceptance back in February with a scholarship, and the email said that she’d get another email in March telling her how to open her iRoar account. I don’t think she ever got that second email. Is that the only way to see the amount of the scholarship?

For us, it matches what was provided on the NPC.
OOS D21 got 10,500 O/S Tuition Scholarship and 500 Clemson University scholarship (34 ACT, 4.85 W gpa, Natl Merit Commended Scholar, 4-year varsity sport and captain, and other ECs).
