Sam major as my son-congratulations!
My daughter just got accepted on 2/15 and it said she’d be getting merit aid.
Anyone hear on any performing arts decisions? Audio technology?
i got an email about honors college and i was accepted as well
Daughter accepted to honors! So excited! Does anyone have feedback on the program?
Congrats and Wondering the same. Any feedback?
Congratulations! Yep; DD is in HC and did the Eureka! Research program. It really helped her get to know kids quickly. They can get involved in HC as little or as much as they want. The one big advantage is priority scheduling; they schedule before others in their class, so it makes it easier to get the sections/instructors they want. They offer a lot of seminars and programs from specialized resume sessions and interview prep to getting into law school. They have specialized advisors in addition to their academic advisors. They can take honors sections of regular classes like physics, bio, calc, etc which are a lot smaller. There are specialized honors seminar classes like “The cultural works of Comics,” “Imaginary Friends,” or “Cults, Religions and Secret Societies.” A lot of kids take advantage of the honors dorms, which are nice, newer (more expensive) dorms, centrally located with good dining options downstairs. Honors students who don’t live in “core” can still use the study spaces and attend activities there. HC students can apply for specialized grants for study abroad or research. They offer virtual info sessions in March; you can find additional info here:
Newly Admitted Students
My son was learned about his acceptance on Jan 7 and was informed that he received an academic scholarship and would receive more detailed information in February 2021. Today he was accepted to the honors program! He was told that he would receive information regarding the academic scholarship in March 2021. Congratulations to all accepted and best of luck to all waitlisted!
I was also accepted to the honors program today!
Very surprised my daughter didn’t get into Honors… she has been accepted to every university and Honors program she applied to other than this. 34 ACT, 4.8 WGPA, National Merit Commended Scholar, 9 AP’s + 6 college courses, 4 year varsity sports, plus other ECs and volunteer hours, and excellent letters of recommendation.
Son was Bridged. In-state, 30 ACT, 7 AP/Dual, 3.6UW/4.6W, 2 Varsity sports, mult clubs and academic teams, highest level club sport, 200+ volunteer hrs, both parents alums.
@Thatgirllane - I am not sure if it was more difficult because of being a business major or not but I am seeing others who were accepted with lower stats than my daughter into business. My OOS D was waitlisted and she has a 4.1 W GPA, 10 AP’s, 2 DE’s (Macroeconomics and Business - both A’s), only 4 B’s in high school total, honors classes too but her high school does not offer weight to those. She is in top 16% in a very overachieveing and academically as well as athletically competitive large high school. She is FBLA President, 4 yr varsity athlete -3 sports, tons of EC’s and tons of leadership. President of teen volunteer organization. NHS, NSHS, NEHS, NMHS, Rho Kappa HS,… and more! She went test optional because her testing was continuously cancelled into the fall. Does being waitlisted make sense? Doesn’t seem like it. She has other options with scholarships too - just disappointing.
out of state?
Yes. Accepted Early Action into Engineering. And recent Financial Aid letters said, “As a Scholarship recipient…”. So again, just surprised denied acceptance into the Honors program.
Does Clemson typically provide substantial government aid for their students? Or are they one of those schools that avoid the EFC and blow you off?
My OOS daughter too. Engineering major also. Maybe they accept more in-state to Honors Program?
Same here. OOS Business major waitlisted 4.22/1340 AP Chem, AP Calc AB/BC amongst other AP and DE classes. All the extras work sports clubs societies etc. Accepted to Darla Moore for pre IB, UMD, ncstate. Seeing some other stats, we are honestly surprised. Clemson wasn’t on top of list but it was a surprise.
Anyone hear if people on waitlist have a chance this year? Like if people are declining their spots already?
still haven’t heard yet. MA senior. It says awaiting decision on the banner and “Your application is complete. You will receive a decision in a timely manner.”
Same ugh!
