Clemson Class of 2025 Admissions

Are you in state? The usual seems to be that in state students with Palmettos Fellows are given $1500-3000 a year with 1500 being the more common amount.

I’m in-state, but I don’t yet qualify for Palmetto Fellows. I’m top 10% of my class, but my SAT score is 40 points too low — taking another one next week to try and improve that. For now, I only qualify for LIFE.

They email you when financial aid is ready, right? Or do I just need to keep checking?

I wouldn’t count on anything more than 1,500 in merit aid. CU just doesn’t feel the need to give any for academic recruiting purposes. They use the state scholarship money as a way to both raise tuition and not offer much in merit amounts. Too bad our state doesn’t fully fund public education.

No kidding. And people wonder why there’s $1.7T in student loan debt.

I found an online pamphlet from 2017… this may help you gage how much merit you’ll get from clemson; however, i’m curious to see how much emphasis they’ll place on test scores since they were test optional.

I do wonder if there’s an indication of how much they will get based on when they received acceptances. First ones went out early November, then December, January and finally in February.

I think if your admissions letter said you were getting a scholarship then you are, but who knows how much! For us, that wasn’t mentioned in the letter so who knows if mine will get anything. At this point the longer this is taking the more I am not betting on getting anything at all.

Yes, I know the letter will state whether you’re receiving any. I’m more questioning if an early acceptance is equal to more merit, or if it’s completely irrelevant.

I believe it has more to do with when you submitted your application than the amount of $$ youre going to receive but I don’t know 100%. I applied mid-october & received in december, my friend applied end of november & received in january, another friend of mine applied september & received in november. (we all had similar stats as well)

Guess not today!!!

you never know! UF sent out their financial aid packages at 8pm yesterday. But I do think it’ll be next week.

Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if the next email I get says “we’re hoping to release financial aid packages in early April”.

April 28th lol

In our household, we are unimpressed with this inefficiency, lack of communication, and inability to meet deadlines. My son was accepted in November and promised scholarship numbers by February … and then BY mid-March. Yes, they’ve been overwhelmed with more applications than ever – which meant action should have been taken to staff up, increase hours, keep lines of communication with prospective students open, etc.

Clemson has been one of two top choices. What a frustration.

Offers from UGA, UF and FSU; with no merit from Clemson, Clemson has fallen out of D’s top 3. She’ll be declining her offer.

Yep! Same frustration here. Most schools had increased applications this year and the same struggles, yet they were able to release merit and financials.

I’m with you. Clemson has always been my top pick, and I enrolled a few weeks ago. Ultimately, the financial aid situation isn’t enough to sway my decision; nevertheless, it’s impossible to plan housing and other college-related purchases without knowing what my tuition will look like.

I wouldn’t be so annoyed if they’d at least tell us why there’s a delay. It’s entirely possible that they’re waiting on SAT scores for this following Wednesday’s test, wanting to see if more people qualify for Palmetto Fellows. If that’s the case, though, they need to tell us.

Palmetto fellows scholarship paperwork is due april 15th for early applications… June 15th I believe for later applicants. However, test scores were due to Clemson Dec 31st which is what they’re using for merit. I believe if you qualify for palmetto fellows through the late application then you’ll have to contact clemson about getting the Palmetto Pact. (palmetto fellows is through the SC commission of Education not clemson & I don’t believe Clemson is required to give the Palmetto Pact)

We are OOS, so the merit $$ is a significant factor in the decision …
