Yes, my daughter got her acceptance to Clemson today! We live in Greenville, SC. She has been accepted to USC-Columbia & Clemson. Still awaiting news from Furman. I secretly hope she decides on Clemson as that is where I graduated way back in '84.

Expatengr: I've had to swallow my pride. My husband and I both went to grad school at USC and my D has chosen Clemson! Actually, I think it's going to be lots of fun to have a divided household: game time will be garnet and black cupcakes and orange and purple cookies! I couldn't be happier for her. She also was accepted into USC, but really liked the Health Science program at Clemson. She's thrilled, and that's what it's all about!

Congrats to all. I was accepted into engineering, and I was wondering if anyone could give a little insight into Clemson and its math/science/engineering departments???

SouthMom... My daughter was raised in a mixed (divided) home. My wife is a graduate from USC and I am a graduate from Clemson. We are both from the same high school and dated while attending college. I even attended a "tiger burning" one year with her (kinda kept the fact that I was a Clemson student quite while there). ;-)

unc please!!! I am a mechanical engineering graduate from Clemson. It was back in '84 so my input may be dated. The engineering school at Clemson is excellent and has a very good reputation. I talk to recent graduates continually at work and they tell me that some of my favorite Clemson professor's are still there! It is not an easy degree to pursue. There were may times that I thought I would not make it through. Stuck it out and very glad I did. I also think Clemson is a great area. However, I may be very biased as I was born and raised in Pendleton, SC (5 miles from Clemson).

My son received his acceptance letter today but no mention of waivers or aid - does that mean no offers are coming?

I have the same question as fourkirbys.. I didn't get anything either.

They actually haven't finished considering students for scholarships, so don't lose hope. The only thing is you have to have at least a 1350 AND top 10% class ranking.

D2 got her acceptance packet today as well. I can also confirm ClemsonDow's comments re: scholarships. D was told the same by admissions. Good luck all.

I am SOOOOO nervous. Just thought id let everyone know.....:(

Congratulations to everyone who has gotten in, and good luck to those still waiting.

Acceptance package arrived today in VA----

esmitty, where are you? What happened? You have wonderful stats and I'm sure you will get into Clemson.

We live in South Carolina and my daughter heard from Clemson yesterday. She was accepted but did not have near the SAT scores you have. I wanted to tell you that the acceptance package was postmarked 2/12 so you probably would not hear until today at the earliest.

Good luck esmitty!!

esmitty: did you hear? We are all wishing you the best and hope you got in! My son got waitlisted :(

I'm a sad panda today :(

In the other thread, it said that esmitty got in...

robinsnest what were your sons stats?

jill08, son's stats are 1390 SAT (M750 V640) and 3.0 gpa - competitive private school, AP classes: Calc AB (scored a 4) and Statistics (currently taking). He is out of state. I'll admit, I was more than a little surprised that he didn't get in but maybe it's for the best. He has 4 acceptances and still waiting to hear from 1 or 2 more.

im sorry to hear that, good luck with everything

From what I heard, Clemson gets more competitive as it grows in national recognition...this is good news as it makes my degree more valuable ;-) When I called to see if my daughter will be receiving further scholarships I was told that the average GPA was a 3.9/4.0. Amazing! My Daughter also goes to private school but I was told that no matter how competitve your school appears to be, you still need to do well to be considered by CU...

ClemsonDOW you're definitely right; Clemson is becoming more competitive by the moment. I was surprised, I didn't get in ...... oh well! I had a 3.4 gpa, a 1320 SAT and 6 APS......last year from my HS students with lower stats than mine were admitted
