Clemson wait list

We are hoping and praying for good news. Our son was accepted for Spring but has been in contact with admissions in hopes of an opening for fall.

I also found out I got off the waitlist yesterday. I paid my deposit and everything!!! I cried when I saw the email. I emailed once in February and called in early April. my stats:
GPA: 3.68 UW
ACT: 26
SAT: 1200
lots of EC’s; Drum major, leadership academies, part time job, family responsibilities, etc
1 AP: AP biology
Major: Genetics.
Can’t wait to see everyone in the fall!!!

congrats @poeticpromises Are you in-state or OOS?

@mweb136 I am out of state from New Hampshire.

DD called Clemson today and was told that notification of acceptance off the waitlist would be via email up until June 1. They have been able to accept a few kids ( < 20) so far. They would begin crunching more numbers tomorrow after today’s decision day. The admission representative didn’t seem very hopeful.

Well, one seat has opened up, my daughter decided to go to Univ of South Carolina instead of Clemson. So there’s some hope. We live closer to Univ of South Carolina, and she would have a full ride to USC where as she’d end up with about $25,000 in student loans after 4 years at Clemson.

It is VERY important to note that just because someone chose not to accept their offer at Clemson (or any other school for that matter) it does NOT mean their spot is now open for someone on the wait list. IT simply does NOT work that way. The school already extended more offers than they have room for knowing that not all of them will accept. They have to have a certain number to decline within any give major before they go to the wait list. When they go to the wait list, they only look at those that applied within that major. For instance, they are no going to offer a spot to an engineering major for a spot opened in business.

My son didn’t take his spot, Clemson was too expensive. Good luck to those on the waitlist!

Anyone else get off the waitlist??? I’m rooting for you all!

My daughter was offered a spot off the waitlist tonight. She had applied to Nursing but was offered Biological Sciences (her second choice). She has decided not to go to Tigertown! Good luck to all who are waiting!

Wish they would offer DD a spot…she claims she would take it.

@labegg, what is her stats? has she shown interest by phone and email? are you instate? what’s the major? i’m rooting for you!!

@livefreeordie603 I’m assuming by the 603 and the motto, you’re a fellow New Hampshire resident… :slight_smile:

@poeticpromises Thank you. She has called twice since accepting a spot on the waitlist (but no one took her name, I don’t think…). We are OOS (TX) major is psychology, 27 ACT/4.86 wgpa/3.6uw, top 14% class rank, pretty sure it is not going to happen.

She should email her state’s Admissions rep. specifically. Put it in black and white. My DD did this several times and then visited their office and met with an admission rep a month ago and burst into tears! It wasn’t planned but I think it moved her towards the top of the list.

Daughter was accepted off the waitlist today. She will not be accepting. Too bad it took so long - might have really considered the school if she got in much earlier! OOS 3.85 UW, 1340 SAT with lots of ECs.

I was accepted today off the waitlist from CT. 1340 SAT 3.8 GPA and lots of school involvement. I am still deciding between Clemson and another school. Good luck to all those who are waiting.

big waitlist year, it seems… still hoping some get off! congrats to those just accepted though

My son got a letter yesterday. Off waitlist and admitted for January

DD was offered January admission…a little too late Clemson! She would have been a yes if she had been offered fall start or January even, a bit earlier in the game! Too bad, so sad…it is Texas A&M for this family, Gig 'Em!
