I get it. My daughter had two girls at school be accepted and she was waitlisted. One had slightly better gpa. The other had less gpa and no EC to speak of.
I’ve given up wondering what they look for.
My DD was accepted to GW on Monday with 18,000 merit. 3.8 GpA. TO. Captain of two varsity sports. Work and volunteering and music, but nothing in comparison to so many of your kids.
Rejected flat out from BU. Waitlisted here, Miami and Pitt. She was set to go to her safety, Drexel with lousy merit. Then by some miracle, GW accepted her.
I’ve honestly don’t see any rhyme or reason to it. Just grateful.
I spoke to someone at Clemson regarding applying to the honors program late. She said they were overwhelmed with applicants this year and relubctantjy told me she heard a rumor they had 60,000 applicants to Clemson this year.
I have a feeling a lot of people applied to multiple schools and the waitlist should open up once students commit. Stay positive.
I didn’t see anything in the portal about any merit aid. Which may make it a difficult choice given we are OOS but he’s been offered lots of merit at another OOS school.
