P.s. my son attends vanderbilt and they don’t do online status either and the school is most helpful when you call about scholarship money and …well…just about anything! Recommend both schools highly!

Oh wow well I’m glad that she had a great experience! That might have been the first time I’ve heard that happening. Hope your daughter is enjoying Clemson! I miss being there now that I’ve graduated.

Waitlisted with a 28 ACT, 10 AP’s, 2 college classes. 3.6 UW/4.53W… NO IDEA how that happened lol

I am out of state (NC) but still…

dd wait listed too

28 ACT. Lots of honors and APs. 3.8 gpa. Blah blah.

Not sure how this works with FA. Will they pull fafsa if you respond that you want to be kept in list

that doesn’t seem right, have you called and asked?

I was waitlisted at clemson. 30 ACT. (32 English, 33 Math, 28 Reading and 25 Science) Mostly all honors throughout high school and AP where I can. 3.6 UW gpa and 4.0W. OOS Florida. Applied to biological sciences/ premed. Absolutely heartbroken, Clemson was my top choice school and my motivation to get up and work hard everyday.

Seems like Clemson has really raised the bar this year. My expectations just got a lot lower.

agreed^ just got very nervous about the upcoming mail

some people who didnt do ■■■■ in my High school got in… I guess the lesson is not to give a ■■■■. Clemson accepts those types of people. :)

.

I really don’t understand…several of you that posted recently have AWESOME stats,… and Clemson’s most recent acceptance rate is 57%…the stats you quoted should definitely have gotten you in…so do not give up, they will realize they want you from the waitlist!!! Don’t give up!!

Do you think it had to do with the selected major?

If you let the admissions office that you’re interested in still attending despite being on the wait list (yet not annoying them constantly), there’s a chance they might move you up the list. They want people who are actually interested in attending.

@justwannagetinn where in NC are you located? I’m in the Raleigh area and have not received anything yet…

Waitlisted with 30 ACT 3.0 GPA, by far was my #1 and had talked with my admissions rep a lot before I got the letter explaining that I would definitely attend if I got in. I’m stunned some of you folks got waitlisted with phenomenal test scores and grades. It really did annoy me though that I had to communicate with Clemson after I submitted my app rather than them communicating with me (didn’t get 1 email from them from Sept - early Feb). Don’t think I’m going to accept the spot on the waitlist b/c of that reason, its clear other schools want me more. Good luck to you all!

Waitlisted with a 26 ACT and 3.86 GPA. National Honor Society, many clubs and organizations, volunteer time, part time job, varsity sports, etc… I plan to major in Environmental Science. I’ve been admitted into five other colleges and have to make a decision on the others by a May 1st deadline. Therefore I do not have the liberty to even wait on a Clemson waitlist. So upset since Clemson was the one I really wanted the most.

Wow a lot of people who have been wait listed. I know in the past they have accepted way more people than they can take so maybe they are cutting back this year? (They have had to convert study rooms in some dorms to rooms). Either that or their admissions standards have skyrocketed or a ridiculous number of people have applied. Extracurriculars are looked at but in the end it’s really just the “numbers” (test scores, class rank, GPA) - and if you’re out of state you have less of a chance compared to a SC resident. I agree that Clemson could do a better job communicating the status of your application (online system like other schools would be nice but I have a feeling that is coming with iROAR). They do let you know though if something is missing from your application.

Good luck to everyone wherever you end up going!

S was waitlisted. OOS, ACT 30 (33 reading, 31 english, 31 science, 25 math, 10 essay), GPA 3.5/3.8, NHS, sports, etc. 4s and 5s on all APs. We visited the campus last year and my son loved it but we have to accept other schools before the waitlist date, so Clemson is out. He will decide between MD and Penn St now. GPA was a little low–perhaps Clemson is emphasizing this.

I have question for other waitlisted students. I wish I could say I had a higher class rank, but truthfully I am only in the top 30% of my class. I had straight A"s my junior year in difficult classes however, which I thought would make up for this. What about y’all? I believe this is what held me back from an acceptance as well as being OOS.

Son’s school doesnt rank but I would say he was top 25-30% in a fairly rigorous private school. Don’t really understand the admissions criteria.
