CLEP/ Undergrad Programs at UF

Hello,
I will be a freshman at UF in the fall and I will be majoring in finance.
-Are there any CLEP exams that I should take that would benefit my major?
-Are there any undergrad business or academic programs that are worth looking into?

Much Thanks.

Most degrees within the business umbrella require that you take at least an intro course in all disciplines. There are CLEP tests that relate to your major. 1) Go to College Board online to see all the CLEP tests that are available. 2) Review the requirements of your major in your UF program. 3) Check with the admissions office at UF to see WHICH CLEPs the school accepts. Not all colleges/universities accept all CLEPs. Generally, people turn to CLEP tests for general education requirements not related to their major. You could use CLEPS for, say, a Western Civ. requirement, an English or Science requirement. It’s a bit chancy to use CLEPs for courses required by your major. You’ll want to ‘go deep’ on those subjects and, as CLEPs tests show general knowledge of a subject, you may find that CLEPping classes in your major won’t give you the most comprehensive mastery of the material. If you do decide to CLEP on a subject, there are good materials out there to prepare. (As a mom of a soon-to-be double major student, taking a CLEP or two during the summer is a great idea.
