<p>Anyone taken off the waitlist, please tell us about your experience</p>
<p>I was taken off at Duke. Duke had always been my first choice, but I didn't have everything in place to have a good chance at ED. I wrote a solid Why Duke? which I think really helped. My interviewer knew I was very interested in attending Duke. </p>
<p>When I was waitlisted, I talked to two alumni that I knew. Both sent in recommendations for me to my adcom. I had my uncle, who taught at Yale for 20+ years, write a rec letter, but he sent it the day I got my acceptance. I was about ready to send a two page letter about why I wanted to go to Duke and what I would bring. </p>
<p>I still wonder if my extremely late mid-year transcript had any bearing on my initial waitlist. My school screwed up and didn't send my transcript until march 9th, not reaching Duke (and my other schools) for a few more days.</p>
<p>In the end things worked out great and I couldn't be happier.</p>

<p>Congratulations gcards1! I got waitlisted by Northwestern and I just got taken off the waitlist...totally didn't expect it but it worked out well at the end :). Are you waitlisted somewhere mafp345?</p>
