Cliques at Kenyon?

I had such a great visit at Kenyon. Now that I’m on the verge of starting there, I admit I have some butterflies. Of course I know that’s normal, but one nagging concern is the social life at Kenyon. Being so small and in a rural setting, I figured if anything out of necessity students dispense with whatever clique they might have been part of in high school and gel into one Kenyon student body. I wondered whether this was naive. The fact that a 3rd of the student body are varsity athletes seems like the “jocks” might have a lot of influence in the social life of the school. I’ve heard the term NARP used at my friend’s college, and I"m definitely one of those. The fact that a lot come from well off families also suggests to me that the preppier people might yield a lot of social influence. What are some of your recent experiences. I’m sure I’m going to fit in one way or the other. But did want to hear direct and indiluted feedback from those who have been through this. I guess also what I"m asking is how strong are classic cliques at Kenyon?

It’s college, not high school. I don’t think you will have any difficulty finding friends. Don’t worry about what other people do.
