Son will probably be going to a college that has mostly local students and he is from out of state. I hear a lot about dorms emptying out on weekends leaving these college students with little to do. But don’t most clubs have activities on the weekends? I would think that they don’t operate mostly during the weekdays, since most students will have classes then, at least during the daytime. Any experience with finding things to do on the weekend at a college that is heavily local?
Every club meeting I have ever attended has been on a weeknight, around 7 or 8 PM.
They also have an Outdoors club he is interested in so that should be weekend trips I’m guessing. Does anyone know of any other types of clubs that have activities on weekends?
A lot of sport teams/clubs (even club or IM sports) have weekend activities. If the school has public service groups then there are usually (mostly tutoring groups) that are on weekends.
I would think long and hard about going to that kind of school…my friend’s daughter did that and did not enjoy her social life.
