CMU Tepper VS Texas Austin-Mccombs
Which is better for a business undergrad major in Finance and Accounting?
Also taking into account the reputation of both the universities as a whole

dream77, please read post one in the featured thread “What you should know about accounting” found at the top of the business forum. It will answer your question at least about accounting. Also, as good as CMU is, they DIDN’T have an accounting major when I looked at them two years ago. Thus, for accounting, UT has to be better because they have a strong program.

UT has the top accounting program. For finance it is ranked 4th I think, but it isn’t as heavy on investment banking as other top finance schools (though it does send students into the field). It also has the largest number of recruiters of any college and recruiters at UT go to McCombs first for anything business related.

McCombs is an excellent business school at an excellent university. I’d go for UT. :)

thank you for your comments.
Unfortunately I didnt apply for business honors at Mccombs.
Also the student : faculty ratio is very low at tepper.
Does this give an advantage to tepper?
