Hey guys! Figured I’d try to start a thread for those who will be enrolled in the college of natural resources to make friends and connections. I’m Quinn and I’m from Huntington beach, CA and will be majoring in environmental science and hopefully minoring in US environmental policy and I’m so excited to move up to Berkeley in August!
Hi mate,
I’m an international student from London U.K. and looking forward to attending. I only decided to apply to the US in October 2017. Been quite a journey. I hear CNR is much smaller and better for students to receive advice, interact with professors etc.? My name is Tom btw
@TK19981 @quinnbossel Hey guys, is CNR easier to get into than L&S?
In a way it could be harder because of how little people are in the entire college, also if you get into CNR you are declared meaning you don’t have to re declare like in L&S. But if your resume matches the CNR majors it could be beneficial to you to apply there
D entered as undeclared L&S. By the end of HS, she knew she wanted to do environmental science, so she took what she needed to to transfer into CNR last spring (junior now - environmental science (physical science), minoring in GIST). She also managed to convince 3+ other people to switch to CNR (MEB) from L&S because the advising is more accessible and better. Smaller school within the university - the chancellor hung out at the parent’s day CNR lunch back in October. Also, their graduation is at the Greek later on the same day as the general university graduation (if location and not having graduation ceremonies spanning multiple days are important things to you). Have fun with that senior thesis, BTW.
