Coalition Application Questions

Does anyone know if changes in the Coalition application profile show up to the admissions committee? I already submitted my UF application a week ago but then changed a few small things on my Coalition profile the other day. I’m really hoping they’ll see what I changed.

Also, I’m planning on updating my Coalition profile application one last time in late October to post my class ranking. My school district only posts class rankings 3 times a year so I am trying to submit the most accurate rank, or at least the one that they will see when (and if) I get in and have to send over my official high school transcript.

I really don’t know. Contact Admissions and ask (and then let us know!).

@madisonskipper UF gets a snapshot of your profile when you submit the application. Anything you change afterwards would not go to UF.

But they will get an updated ssar?

@soyunchico Yes until they SSAR gets locked at UF goes into decision making mode.

@Melissa96 Are you sure? Because I update my coalition profile every so often to add things that I forgot/update, so they will not see these things? I wanted them to.

@JPGator98 Yes, positive. UF gets a snapshot of your profile when you submit - no subsequent Coalition information

@Melissa96 so if I had other information to add that I wanted them to see/look at, Can I send them a rèsumè?

@JPGator98 Unfortunately not, UF is only going to review what what resume info that was on your application at the time of submission.

@JPGator98 There is a section in the UF app, where you can include additional info that you may want UF to consider. I think it’s limited to 950 characters.

@Melissa96 @JPGator98 Would either of you know what the question means that reads, “How many college credits have you taken to date, post high school graduation?” The question is found in the College Information section of the coalition application. My daughter will have 100+ college credits when she graduates in May. She is a dual-enrollment student, and will graduate high school with her AA Degree in addition to her high school diploma. She doesn’t want to select “0” credits since she will have over 100 college credits, yet the phrase “post high school graduation” would not apply to her since she has not graduated yet. Obviously, she wants her coalition application to be accurate. Any advice/guidance you, or someone else, can provide will be very much appreciated. This is the last question she needs to answer before submitting the coalition application.

@FLTiger42 The key is actually taken after high school graduation - any student who earns 12 hours post high school graduation cannot be considered for freshman admission. If your daughter is only taking dual enrollment and not going to take classes during the summer subsequent to graduating, zero is the correct answer. That will have nothing to do with how her dual enrollment hours will count towards her degree if she is admitted.

I’m in the same position, I put around 80 credits down and already sent in my application. I won’t be taking any classes over the summer but I interpreted this to mean, “how many credits will you be graduating with?” Should I contact admissions and let them know that I should’ve put a 0 there? What should I do? @Melissa96

@madisonskipper - Yes, feel free to email freshman@ufl.edu and let them know that you are not taking courses over the summer -

@Melissa96 On the UF Personal Essay - There is not a way to indicate which essay prompt the student is responding to. Should the prompt be included in the body of the essay?

@UFMSE1990 I’m also an applicant, but from what I have seen, the admissions reader should be able to pick up from the essay what the prompt is by what I said written. If you are trying to do a personal essay, that is probably pretty clear. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I e-mailed UF Admissions and they replied “It is not necessary to state the prompt.”
