val293: Assuming that we actually find out tomorrow, we know that snail mail won’t arrive until the afternoon. We think the e-mail will be sent between 3 and 5, based on the time of the semi-finalist e-mail. As for the website, I think a midnight release is wishful thinking…it probably won’t be up until the afternoon either.

Ah, okay, thank you. It WAS definitely wishful thinking on my part I’m just so sick of waiting! Haha. I know I’ll see all of you online here at that time tomorrow. Good luck guys.

coke commercial just aired during the superbowl :)

How many of us are staying up until midnight to see if they post the results? I doubt they will be up at midnight, but you never know! Good Luck Everyone =)

i’ll be up watching the 'Glee ’ episode…so probably me.

Our snail mail is always DAAAYYYS after everyone else’s…live in very small town in RI…has to go by ponyexpress once it reaches the border…hahah…

good luck everyone…IT’s been a lot of fun getting to know you all and share our anxiety together.

Watermellen… A new episode of glee is on?!

Annetaylor124 yes it is!! It’s a special Super Bowl episode! :)

Here’s a list of all the songs:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Glee_(season_2)

They are doing a “risque” opening number to attract me who watched the Super Bowl…whatever it takes to get the job done, I guess :P

Regardless, I’m excited!! Plus I’ll still be awake enought to check the Coca Cola website.

I’ll be pulling an all-nighter for a research paper so ill probably be checking the site too… After Friday’s desperation… The wait isn’t as severe haha BTW… my SAT score was a 1750 so i didnt put that on there… instead i reported my ACT 29. I think the strongest part of my app is my essays… and I got a letter of recommendation from the CTE state supervisor at the Department of Education (Arizona). Hopefully, that helps… my average community service hours are 80 per year… So only a few things stick out on my app, which worries me. But, on the bright side… they’re following me on twitter! Which means if I don’t get it… They’ll be victims of my ranting for a while LOL

Coca Cola Scholars has a Twitter?!

YES! I was all crazy when I saw the request! haha, my username is dnacarlos check out their page Twitter

Well I guess it’s safe to say nothing is going to come out this early in the morning. Seriously this scholarship is ruining my already bad sleeping patterns! lol

Good morning CCers! Will today be the day?! We can only hope! Can we pass the time with quick summaries of our accomplishments that we think will help us to win the scholarship?

Hi stereo.

Yes, that 's what I had asked everyone a few days ago…to talk about the passion that coca cola saw in them that got them this far!

My passion is all music. It’s my life…I’m in every known band or chorus/ choir in our school , our school and All state. I’ve even gotten to sing a capella for Colin Powell as part of the US. Scholar athlete/artist games…quite an honor for me. I"ve been the number one tenor in RI all state chorus for past three years…

I come from a very small town in RI, but I plan on going on to major in Music education if I can find a way. I’ve been accepted to the music school at Ithaca college, for voice and trumpet along with Music education…I also play guitar, piano and a few smaller instruments…

I can’t imagine my life without music…it’s my reason for getting up every morning.

I had plenty of volunteer hours, started a tolerance committee at my school, missionary trip to dominican republic, taught music to middle schoolers etc…SAT scores were good, but not great 1990…lot of extracurricular and leadership roles…grades good with a few AP classes.

I think i’m just well rounded…have a lot of interests and am really hoping for this scholarship as my dad died this past year, and my mom lost our home due to only one income and now she recently lost her job…so scholarships will hopefully help get me to college…

How about you ?

Wow jashton, I really hope you get this! I’m so sorry about your dad and good luck to your mom…
You really deserve this scholarship because your dedication to music is astounding. Good luck :)

Thank you for your kind words,

what about you persian princess…what’s your passion and what will help you win? I thought wer were all going to do this?

Thanks jashton! You truly deserve it…all of the semifinalists do!!! Well…I’ve never done half the amazing things that you’ve done, I’ve never delivered a baby in Africa or made a hospital in bangladesh…lol…but I’ve been really dedicated to genetics. I’ve done research with prostate cancer and have donated more than 1000 hours to the special olympics for over 8 years. I have a bunch of hours raising money for charities and races that help children with disabilities and my dream is to develop a vaccine for genetic diseases or some sort of medical advancement in that field.

Any one else…!?

wow…that’s amazing Persian Princess! YOu should feel so proud. such important accomplishments, that have already and will benefit many in the future…I’m sure coca cola will recognize such wonderful examples of leadership…best to you …

Oh didn’t you say that you’ve already heard and that they told you , that you received it? If congrats! You truly deserve it

Well…I’m crying “uncle” now. My volunteer hours are next to nothing compare to the all the volunteer hours and accomplishment I read in this thread. I hope not all semifinalists have the thousand of volunteer hours. Either way, the wait is going to be over by the end of the day. Good luck to all of us.

Yeah, haha I was going to mention that. I got a call last week around the beginning of the month. I still can’t believe and need to see it on the site before I know for sure. Haha. I’m extremely grateful. I’ve never felt so honored before in my life. I hope all the CCers get it and we should all have like a CC party down in Atlanta. Haha.
Good luck once again :)

Yeah to be honest I only had about 400 volunteer hours and they were all divided to several places where I’ve done community service, so I’m not sure why they picked me unless it was for my interesting EC’s to be honest lol.
