Coca-Cola Scholarship- 2010-2011

that’s so cool watermellen…that’s exactly how I pictured that weekend…and making lasting friends is such a bonus…

glad you’re friend is doing so well

THanks Elliemae for letting us know what your guidance found out…

saying prayers…Let’s make sure we share if we hear anything…ok?

did they give a specific date? cause when someone called earlier from what i can tell it said we would find out by the 11th. i really really don’t want to wait haha

I guess they’re just proofreading emails to make sure no one gets the wrong one.

You’re probably right Wan9sta…a lot of money on the line, i’m sure they want to make sure it’s all perfect for all of us.

this thread already has way more posts than last years

speaking of last year, i think they found out on the day they were told. hopefully it holds true for us too!!

that’d be the 11th now I presume?

When would that be juliean?

uhhh, i think it was the 5th for them, and the 7th for us. (lets hope)

Oh yeah. I saw that. They had a 3 day delay. I talked about that earlier… I also saw how many of the posts of acceptance/rejection were really late… But I also kept reading… February 11th is when finalist names were posted online

a;sldkfj :)

I had multiple dream this morning that I found out that I didn’t get selected to be a finalist.
I think they should post it so these nightmares will stop!

aaahhh… so the torture goes on!!! BUT does anyone know if Coca Cola contacts us if we were rejected? or do we just have to wait it out till everyone else finds out?

OH yeah, I just finished my Eagle Scout project this weekend.
I am kicking myself for the procrastination! That woulda looked so much better on my application.

@juliean99 I think in one of the posts I read from previous years they said those who weren’t chosen at finalists were emailed a rejection letter. However it didn’t come outright and say they got rejected, but that they should be proud to be a semifinalist and that picking the finalists was a difficult decision.

Oh yeah, my sister had a 26 on her ACT and was still selected to be a national scholar (the 20k one).
So the ACT and SAT scores are not the only factor that they use.
Then again, she had over 2600 hours of community service and was president of every single thing she was in…

Just came back from school. Awaiting the results anxiously, especially since i was just deferred from a spring high school program.

thanks @pennedict! great digging :)

Elliemae, Did your guidance counselor find out when they are emailing?
Did anyone get an email yet? Sounds like only PersianPrincess has heard (Congrats again! Hope to meet you in Atlanta.) Wonder if they are working tonight. I am surprised how many of the college admissions folks are working late at night… have gotten evening calls and emails from them so maybe Coke folks are busy writing our emails now???

@PoStorm
I finished my Girl Scout Gold Award Project in December  Yay scouts!
