Congrats to everyone :)

good luck on the next round.

So they post a list of the semifinalists online?

I think they will post a list later.

is it safe to assume that i’m not a semi-finalist if I’m from Nor Cal?

Im pretty disappointed, I really thought I should have gotten at least semi-finalist with around 500 hours of comm. service, and several leadership positions. Oh well…

On last year’s thread, it said that round one is completely graded by a computer, is that true?
Anyways congrats to those of y’all who made it

At this point, I don’t think I’m a semifinalist either. But hey, that doesn’t mean anything; it’s a lot about luck too, as you may be chosen for some scholarships but not all of them.

Whoever makes the semifinalist cut is determined by a stinking algorithm from what I’ve been told. I’m glad to have made it, but that questionnaire is not an effective measure if it’s solely based on numbers anyone can make up.

Yeah its an algorithm cut, which makes me feel marginally better, because I had a lot of heavier ec’s that couldn’t be conveyed. But not much better :(.
I’ve pretty much given up hope, but my plan is to try to log into the semifinalists page when it opens tmrw, with my PIN and password, and just see what happens. But I am no longer expecting it sigh

I’m kinda bummed, because this was gonna be my base for paying for college. No other scholarships take a dent out of tuition quite like this one. lol. But I’m still gonna apply to lots of other competitions, and if not ROTC FTW!

Has anyone been able to access the semifinalist materials yet?

I found the number on top of the envelope when I received my semi-finalist letter. what does it mean?

If the number above the name on the envelope is a ranking, then I’m in trouble for the finalist evaluation. There are 2,150 semi finalists and my number on the envelope is 2,124.
What was your number?

I’d bet they correspond to your last name. D has a low number and is at the beginning of the alphabet.

Received my letter! Anyone able to access the semi-finalists materials?

I don’t think it’s by last name. My last name is at the end of the alphabet and I don’t have a high number.

Wait, there’s a login page for semifinalists?

Wait, so is the number a ranking or by last name? My number is 357, and my last name is in the middle of the alphabet (H-J). Maybe it is a ranking? If so, I guess 357 is not too bad out of 70,000+ people overall and 2,150 semi-finalists. Also, where exactly do we log-in? I tried the old place and its not working.

@elliemae1300: congrats! where are you from?

I’m from FL and I’m still waiting on a response.

should i just give up?

You can guess about the number all you want, but isn’t it a better use of time to actually do the application? If you got a letter, you are in the running.

It’s November 29 and I am not able to log in with the username and password they gave me. What gives? Also, the Coca-cola website is really buggy
