Has anyone been able to log in? I only see a login spot for scholar alumni.

Did anyone for Nor Cal get either mail or email? When is the semi-finalist login available?

I’m from very Nor Cal and i recieved a letter by mail. So far i’m not finding the log in place.

No log-in for me either. I tried the link in the email, but it just says “The scholarship application is currently closed. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation accepted scholarship applications between September 1 and October 31 of each year.” Maybe tomorrow?

It works now :D

Just to let everyone know how competitive it is, i’ll just mention my CS hours. 500 hours is really not that substantial for this competition. I have 1200 per year. Sure, its GREAT and good job, but just pointing out how competitive this is.

I’m semifinalist; Should I report this to Yale? (I applied SCEA). Should I email or mail, and who should I send this to?

Email them the letter, that’s what i did with Stanford.

Where do you actually log in? All I can find on the Coca-Cola scholars page is a log in for alumni. What am I missing?

Quick question – I am a semifinalist and I saw the materials for the next step. However, I do not have a copy of my original application and I can’t remember which activities I focused on (it was like 2 months ago). I think this is an issue because some of the questions/activity lists are basically the same questions.

So 2 questions – 1. Is there a way to retrieve a copy of my original application? 2. Will they compare my Semifinalist application with my original application?

THANKS!!!

SoCal here. If no email/mail has come in yet, should I assume that I did not advance?

anyone else having troubles with the Emory questionnaire? When I click “Submit,” nothing happens

Do they want everything in one package?
So I’ll have to ask my recommender to give the letters to me so that I can mail it?

Yeah, nothing happens when i click submit as well.

Jasondvm - what do you do for all those hours? What do you believe has been the opportunity cost of dedicating that much time to service activities?

I have sacrificed working a typical, per hour job. I made sure to get jobs that allow me to dictate my hours and pay me enough to compensate for less hours (video editing etc). I have learned a huge amount by doing community service. A large number of my hour includes being the volunteer technical assistant for an organization, which allows me to do what I love, technology, as community service for a NPO.

I have a friend who raises guide dogs. He’s done that for the past 4 years. He has around 1600 hours a year of CS because he ALWAYS has his dog with him wherever he goes. In this unfair? No, the dedication and loyalty he has is unbelievable, and he has sacrificed a lot. Unfortunately, he did not make semi finalist.

It looks like that I did not make the cut. It is almost Dec 1, and no response. If they do not inform people who did not make it to next level, the process has flaws. I took time to fill in the application. At least, they should have the courtesy to let us know who did not get in. How hard is far them to tell us?

I am not sure how sound the scholarship selection process. People say whatever they want and get in? Dang. I have ahad over 1200 hours in community and research experience and they do not like me? I should have said millions hours instead. LOL!

wolfram3422, the same problem with me too. It tells me to enter my SSN?

Satacer, I had around 1200 PER YEAR. Also, you can’t put more than 999 hours in the form. And sure you can say whatever you want, but i’m fairly sure that they would check the 2000 semi finalists by hand just to be sure. If not, it will become evident in the next round. And it’s not just about hours either.

I had a total of 2200 hours of expeirence for the last 4 years. There are people with less than 300 hrs who got in. I am a school Val. MY SAT scores are over 2200. Subject Test scores are flawless. Done 14 AP classes. SF in Siemens. Done University research for the last 4 summers. What more they want? They gotta be kidding me.
