<p>I don't know if this is a national trend, but cocaine is definitely becoming more popular at my school. Some girls are even doing it to lose weight. And this just started happening this year. It's weird b/c you sort of become used to hearing about people you know doing it.</p>
<p>heck yes there is a lot. It seems to be the "glamour" drug. I think it was probably at my school all along, but I was just young and naive and my peers hadn't discovered it yet. It's pretty sad stuff.</p>

no one at my school does coke, at least not in the upper grades...I heard a 9th grader does....bizarre</p>
<p>I haven't heard of anyone using crack at my school. I've heard of people smoking weed and drinking alcohol...but thats about it.</p>
<p>Yeah, it's definitely growing in popularity at my school. We're a pretty white-bread, upper/middle class, well-educated sort of place. Parents would be shocked.</p>
<p>But I'd say as far as stimulant-type drugs go, Adderall is a thousand times more popular because it's a lot cheaper and quite a bit safer. Actually, most kids at my school will pop about any kind of pill. Eh.</p>
<p>Yeah, parents would be shocked to find out a lot of things their kids do. If a parent finds out child's friends/peers are into _____ (insert drug name), parent will question child. Child assumes innocence, usually along the lines of "I know of people who do it...it's easy to avoid...I make my own decisions, I'm not influenced by what's around me...<em>I</em> would never do it... etc., etc." Parent buys it and pushes nagging suspicion to back of mind.</p>
<p>My school's more about weed/booze. Alcohols for the bigger parties with all our friends and weed is more for smaller hangouts. I had a lot of friends who used to take way more cloricidin than you're supposed to and did X and other things. Interestingly enough, that was in 8th/9th grade. Friends now wouldn't go near hard drugs. </p>
<p>BTW we are a small class (60ppl/30ish party) and most of us have known each other since 7th grade or before so our parties are SAFE. Just a large group of very close friends. Probably different from the typical high school party scene.</p>
<p>another weed and beer school, no crack but I could get meth if I wanted it, which is a lot "harder" than cocaine.</p>
<p>Coke is everywhere at my school, people are always snorting it in the bathroom.</p>
<p>Wow, i go to private school, and kids usually get kicked out for hard drugs and suspension, probation, and random drug tests once a month for a year for pot or alcohol. But Hawaii is laced with pot and ice (crystal meth) in general, so... I know kids in the public schools here do all the hard 5hi7, tho.</p>
<p>Kids get kicked out for all that in my school too, but I guess when so many do it, they can't really kick everyone out...although I guess they don't know everyone does it.</p>
<p>hah, my school's rules are so lax. If someone got caught with cocaine, they'd only get suspended and then probably spend a while in JDC, unless they had a good lawyer. But no one gets caught anyway.</p>

<p>my school's rule is that if you use you get suspended, but I've never heard of anyone getting caught. all four years I'd say 25-100 were suspended for fighting, 4-10 for pulling the fire alarm for a prank, 1 for getting caught sneaking off campus to smoke a regular cigarette, (mind you, it's incredibly easy to go off campus) and 1 for sending a death threat to the president. no drug suspensions, probably because the worst users drop out before they get the chance to get caught buying in front of a teacher. they test athletes at least once though, but thier poison of choice during the season is alcohol, and that gets out of your system pretty fast compared to weed.</p>
<p>Oh yeah...it's like a big joke at my school, the whole "athletes not drinking" thing. Everyone has to sign this big contract at the beginning of the season...except last yr there was this HUGE party that basically every athlete was drinking at, and someone videotaped everyone...so then our school said everyone was suspended from their sports. Needless to say, there was tons of drama+lawyers...so now it seems like everyone just looks the other way.</p>
<p>We don't have like a TON of cocaine, it seems like heroine is the big thing in my school...well in terms of hard drugs anyway</p>
<p>I don't think many people do coke at our school but they do pop pills like crazy and drink a ton. What's the one that is supposed to help you study? That is really popular but I only see dumb kids doing it thinking its going to help them... also ecstasy.</p>
