Cog Sci & Forensics?

Hi, I got into UCSD under neuroscience and physiology but realized soon after that I’m more interested in a career in the forensics field (specifically CSI or criminology) than the medical one I’d been considering. I want to switch to their cognitive science major with a specialization in behavioral neuroscience and a minor in psych because I’ve heard that cog sci can be a good track for graduate school in forensics, but wanted to see if anyone has heard or found that to be true. Any help or advice is appreciated

Are you attending orientation? You can talk to an advisor and change majors at that time.

I am UCSD student who has just finished my first year. I am planning on going into forensics as well. I am hoping to go into the laboratory side forensics as a criminalist. I am majoring in Molecular Biology because it will allow me to get the necessary Gen chem, quantitative analysis, biochemistry, ect. needed for an entry level position. Definitely talk to an advisor, but I would either major in biology or chemistry to get the lab experience needed. However, you can still major in Cog Sci and just make room for the above classes in your schedule.
