College acceptances

Marbare, did your son receive an invitation to Sunday in the Square? I'm assuming so since decisions have not gone out yet from Steinhardt. Good advice from the others. Two very different environments but from my experience and that of my D's friends, Steinhardt would win that comparison, hands down.

marbare - what happened to the program at UCLA? I'm totally out of the loop. Is it just MT or other theatre programs too? I'm very curious to know.

Hey all,

Silly I know. Keep me posted Mychal, I'm sure we'll be chatting online ;) CONGRATS AGAIN! It's all finally paying off....

Attention all anxious CMU auditionees. Check "Where Am I In the Process" on the CMU website. My S's decision was posted today (not accepted). That must mean letters went out Friday.

OK, the wait is finally over for us. S auditioned at OCU, OU, BOCO and CMU.

Accepted: OCU and BOCO (ED)
Not accepted: CMU and OU

Hooray! Still waiting for some scholarship information, but having those two to choose from is feeling pretty good.

Mtpop,

Major congratulations on the acceptances! Those are 2 great programs - can't go wrong at either. And I absolutely love your positive attutude. Be sure to post his final choice on the decisions 2005 thread.

Bravo!

PS Looks as if CC'ers may be well represented at OCU next year. What fun for you guys to share this experience for 4 years!!

Congrats to you, mtpop, and your son! I'm looking forward to the last bit of info so my D can make her final, FINAL decision!

Allthatjazz-Congratulations! You have great programs to choose from! What an accomplishment!

pinkearmufs-Congrats on your acceptance! You must be very excited!

Hmm...my decision isn't posted on the CMU site!! ARGH!

Signed,
Still Waiting

I'm kinda too afraid to check.... I'd rather find out by letter, not by online. Ya know?

Anyone find out the were ACCEPTED to CMU via the website?

mt pop,
congrats on both, but especially ocu since i knew ya'll were auditioning. lauren still did not get into the music program, trying again in april. but, she will probably still attend there using their acceptance into the theatre performance program for now. but, i'm thrilled for you. jamie, (in rockwall)

Congrats to your s, mtpop! My d is going to OCU next fall, so perhaps we will see you there.

mrsark,
Tell your d to hang in there and best wishes on her upcoming OCU audition. We hope she will decide to go there next year regardless...love to meet you.

Lexasmom

thanks, lexas, it's tough to see them work so hard and not make it. it makes them think they're not good enough. it does look like she'll go on up next year and just create her own mt curriculum til she can get into the program. i started a new thread for upcoming ocu freshman so we can all know who else will be there and look for each other. i know several of our kids are going and this way it will be easier to keep up with each other. jamie

i'd like to post one other thing regarding lauren, since this is the "acceptance board" and so many are posting all their acceptances. i guess i want to defend lauren a little. she chose not to go too far from home so only auditioned at the one school. so, it's not that she didn't get in to others, just didn't audition there. that's what makes it so hard on her. if she had tried at others and gotten some acceptances, this one rejection wouldn't be so bad. but, it's tough when you pin all your hopes on one school. thank goodness for that nice theatre scholarship and acceptance. jamie

Briarbrad--

My decision also wasn't on the site!

Is anyone else find that they're reading into everything all the time now? I then contradict that by reading into something else. Then contradict that... you get the idea.

ARGH.

I've never been a patient person ;0)

*--R

So two of my friends who were already accepted to the UMich MT program this year received emails today from Brent Wagner himself, head of the department. Both of their letters begin:

"Greeting to the Class of 2009!

I'm writing to all of the newly admitted students to share some of
the latest news about the Musical Theatre Department here at
Michigan. "

DID ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS DEFERRED RECEIVE THIS E-MAIL?

I hate college

he spelled greetings wrong...
