ACTOR465 - We are auditioning for Ithaca at the L.A. unifieds this weekend and they asked for a 3 hour block of time. Do you recall it actually taking 3 hours? We would like to fit in a few more auditions that day.

Big ovation for MTFan and Actor465!! Actor, my D auditioned in Tysons the same day you did. For whatever it's worth, she hasn't heard anything yet. Fingers still crossed, lots of wood being knocked on!

Congrats to MTfan and actor465!! That's wonderful news!! Keep it coming!!

catsmom,

The audition certainly did not take three hours by any means. I think it was supposed to start at 12:30 (...I think) and we got there early, around 12ish. We were out of there by 1:15. Partly because there were so few auditioners (12) and because my friend and I were the second and third to go. It also went by quickly because there was no dance audition.

I've known these for a while and have posted them in other areas but just for the record, I have been accepted to Baldwin Wallace and Point Park.... both for MT. I have yet to hear decisions for the other SEVEN schools. :)

Catsmom,
I talked to someone at the NY Unifieds last weekend who gave the following story about the Ithaca NYC audition the day before (Feb 5). They arrived as requested to the Ithaca audition at 1:30 pm, only to find out that his D was then given a time slot of 5 pm, because the applicants were placed in order of their application to Ithaca. At least that's what he said. So maybe that's why they ask you to block out 3 hours. In her case, it was more like 3.5 hours. They went out and roamed the city for 3 hours while they waited.

Actor465 & chrism - Thanks for the info on Ithaca. Sounds like they give you a specific time once you get there.

wct - I don't know how late cmu will be at the L.A. unifieds on Sunday, but they will also be there on Monday which is when we are auditioning. Each school seems to be staying until different times, depending on when their last audition is scheduled.

catsmom-

Thanks for the info. I am hoping to get up to LA by 5:00 on Sunday. I am hoping to just say hi to a few folks.

Congrats to both mtfan and Broadway 32nd! As you may have guesse from my user name I attend Point Park and I'm a musical theater major. I get the feeling Point Park isn't your first choice school (it's ok it wasn't mine either), but if you have any questions about it or any other program you've been accepted to I'd be glad to share my experience. My mom used this site last year when I was applying to schools and found it to be very helpful. I auditioned at CCM, BOCO, U of M, Ithaca, and Point Park, but I did a lot of research on a lot of the other big name schools. If you have any questions at all about any of your schools I will gladly try to answer them or refer you to one of my friends (they are all over the east coast studying MT). Feel free to email me any time at Caro8604@aol.com.

I've been accepted to Point Park music theatre program with a nice talent scholarship! Still awaiting decisions from 4 other schools.. and still have to audition at 3 additional schools. Agh! stress :)

My D and I just returned from Unified's in Chicago on Thursday and Millikin. She was accepted to Millikin for MT and told talent award will be forthcoming. She is very excited and happy, because she LOVED Millikin. She also felt she had decent auditions for CCM and Hartt. If anyone out there got accepted or rejected or waitlisted to either CCM or Hartt, what was the reaction to you after you did your audition? I'd like to compare what my D experienced. Good luck and congrats to everyone so far. She still has 4 more to go.

mama02girlz, how was the Millikin audition? Ill be there on the 21st with a couple of my friends. Also when were you at the unifieds? I was there on monday and I auditioned for Hartt in the morning and Otterbein in the evening. I think I got a very good reaction from the faculty after my audition (except for when the head guy said that I sang 'then' instead of 'to' in my song!!!), they said I did a very good joob and they told me that I should come out and visit the school. Also when i was walking by later looking for walk ins, the same guy who said to visit said that I should really visit again... so who knows! I dont wanna look into it too much or I'll freak myself out! At Millikin they tell you if you make it into the program right on the spot right? How'd they do that? I think it would be awkward for them to tell you that if you didnt make it. Also did they say a range of the talent $ they normally give out?

My D loved the Millikin Auditions. We were at the unifieds Tues and Wed. She also got a great feeling from her Hartt Audition. At Millikin, they call the ppl in the room that get asked into the MT program, and the ones for BA theatre in another room. They handle it so professionally we were very impressed. Yes, they tell you right after the audition which is wonderful. The brochure says from $2750 to half tuition, in addition to any merit money. Let me know if you have any other questions.

mtfan - my D will be at Millikin on Monday, 2/21/05, too! That will probably be the whole group since they only take about 5 each day. How many of your friends are going?

Wow, thats cool! two of my friends are going with me, were going down a day early and staying with one of my friends best friends who is a BFA acting major there. I was actually on the waiting list for the 21st cause there were already 5 people auditioning, but they called the other day and said someone cancelled their audition!

Rejected from Michigan. I got the letter today. Definitely is upsetting because it was exactly where I wanted to go, but I've still got to hear from a bunch of places, and at least I have Ithaca!

Actor465, as I said in my email (folks, Actor emailed me to say he happened to be in the audience for my D's performance of Songs for a New World the other night) -- your Michigan news is clearly and understandably a real disappointment, but you're just as clearly a person of real talent, and whatever school you wind up at will be the better for having you there.

We came back from Point Park to find a rejection from UArts. My D had decided after her UArts audition that she didn't particularly want to go there anyway, but still -- one wants to be the rejecter rather than the rejectee. At least she felt really good about her Point Park audition!

My friend CHloe was accepted on the spot at cMU for musical theater. Im so jelous, but I have my Mich acceptance to feel happy about. I will have to wait for the letter from CMU, then hopefully make a concious decition...MICH or CMU? OH well...i am very proud of my friend CHLOE, because she is one of them ost talented tripple threats I have ever met. HEr vioce is out of controll!!!- she sang the song from BROOKLYN for her auditions-that how insane she is! GO CHLOE!
