My mistake on UCLA. There’s something wrong about the target class size from the LA Times article, so I’ll need to correct the Yield figure. It did seem odd because the article stated that Yield was 37% last year and on the rise.

*Excluding for insufficient data: Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, Chicago, Michigan, Notre Dame, Rice, UC-Berkeley, USC

Thanks very much again for continuing to provide the really useful service of compiling this data, @spayurpets. I have a couple of questions for you/others: among those universities that you’re excluding for insufficient data, have any provided less data this year than they provided last year, or are we expecting them to disclose it later in the year? Did any schools that provided enough info to be included disclose less this year than formerly? In other words, do we think that some schools are becoming less transparent?

Can you provide similar Ranked Admissions Data for the top-25 LAC’s?

Awesome job @spayurpets. :)>-

@DeepBlue86

I’ve been trying to keep a running tally in my head of which schools have provided more or less data this year. I think it is generally true that there were more schools that provided data–and more fulsomely or earlier–this year, for example, Tulane, Union, Wellesley, Trinity and Wake Forest.

But there were some exceptions. Most conspicuously, Stanford went from a full disclosure to a partial. It joined Columbia and WUSTL in providing only combined information. Chicago has stated they won’t provide any data this spring. Some other notables that had reported more data by this time last year include Notre Dame, UNC, Maine, Amherst and Davidson.

A couple of schools were less detailed in their data reporting or trickled it out, which made calculating an acceptance rate more difficult, notably Vanderbilt and Northwestern.

The Ivies (minus Columbia), Duke and MIT remain the most timely and transparent in reporting their numbers.

Thanks for that detailed response, @spayurpets.

AU accepts 29 percent of applicants for the class of 2021

AU admitted 29 percent of applicants this year, the second lowest acceptance rate in the university’s history. This is up from last year’s acceptance rate of 26 percent.

There were 18,692 applications this year, down from 19,333 in 2016, Jeremy Lowe, associate director of admissions in the Office of Enrollment, said in an email. Applicants came from 120 countries and all 50 states. **

UMich Receives Nearly 60,000 Freshman Applications For Fall 2017

The University of Michigan has set another record for freshmen applications for the fall of this year. The school has held the record for several years now.

UMich has gotten the highest number of applications in terms of reviewing and processing for freshmen. The institution received 58,590 applications in total for the incoming class.

Michigan Live reported that this is a seven percent increase. UMich has offered admissions to over 14,000 students, university spokesman Rick Fitzgerald said. This year’s total number of freshmen applications set a record for the school for the 11th consecutive year.

Fitzgerald added that they expect to enroll a freshman class of an estimated 6,600 students. Of all the applications received last year, 10,959 were submitted by in-state students with 4,511 being offered admissions for an acceptance rate of 42.4 percent.

Out of the 35,783 applications submitted by students living in other states and the 8,758 applicants living in other countries, 10,815 were offered admission for an out-of-state acceptance rate of 24.5 percent.

@odannyboySF Richmond is not ready to release their stats yet, and will probably not do so until their entire 2021 class is confirmed and filled up.

wasnt AU 29%?

@sdl0625 Yes. Their overall acceptance rate is 29%. The 26.2% regular decision (RD) acceptance rate is averaged with the 82.6% early decision 1 and 2 (ED1/ED2) one to get 29.0%.

UMich did give their OOS and IS admit rates.

Shouldn’t they be broken out?

@PurpleTitan the UMich article was misleading; the OOS and IS break-outs were from last year. I checked them, and they match the Class of 2020 numbers.

^ Huh, you’re right. Thanks.
