college application parts.

how do you know if the college received all the parts to the app? do the colleges notify you if youre missing a part? im applying to dartmouth ed and the deadline is november 1st..my peer rec and my early decision agreement should be getting there by wednesday 10/31 or 11/1 the latest. i submitted the preapp last tuesday 10/23 and im submitting the commonapp online today. i heard that the colleges take a while to process the 9842379474 pieces of mail they get each day..should i call them on november 1st to see if they have all my parts? would dartmouth get irritated that im calling them on the day the app is due? i heard that some colleges such as caltech notify the applicant even after the app deadline to tell about a missing part and give some time to submit the missing part..what about colleges like dartmouth? your help is greatly appreciated!

same questionnnnnn. someone please answer.

Go ahead and call Dartmouth , but give them a week after Nov 1 to file all the "parts". The people working in admissions are very nice, and won't be irritated at a student calling with a legitimate question.

so..if i give them a week after nov 1 to file all the "parts" and they find that something is missing then..would they give me a chance to resubmit the missing part a week after nov 1?

Yes. But before you call, check on your end with your teachers, school counselor, etc. to see if and when they sent in their recommendations. Does Dartmouth send an email or notice that something is missing from your file, or post a list of received documents somewhere on the admission website so you can check to see if everything has been received?
