College APPs and rolling admissions/chance me

New member on the forums. need some info.

so i plan on applying to penn state but i feel that i don't have the stats yet. I plan on taking my act and sat2's in october and retake my sat in november. i haven't done any actual in depth research but i have a few questions. is it possible to send in your app now and then send in your scores once you take the exams. I seriously want to go to this school but don't have the stats.

my second question is, how do i let penn state know that i wish to do UP? i really would like to do the summer session as senior summers can be to suspensful also i will have an easy time adjusting in the fall if i am accepted.

as for my chance me:

3.02 uw gpa with most challenging workload available in math/science.
1860 sat score.
640 bio e score
not that great ec's: 50 hrs at a hospital. 4 years of fbla and 2 years of another club.

if i were to send in my app now that is what it would look like.

by november my gpa would def go up with 1st quarter grades although i believe penn state looks at up to junior grades. also my act/sat scores would be at least 32/2200 (i am doing amazing at practice tests now after studying all summer). sat2s would also go up to the 750s in math2 and bio although i don't think penn state

well i looked up everything including the bubble chart and it looks like getting a 2300/34+ will be the only way penn state will even consider looking at my app.

gotta get to work now~

but now i have another question. my mind is set on penn state but i don’t know if i should take the sat in november or october. i wanna get my sat2’s down so i can apply to other places but i wanna get my sat down asap so i can apply to penn state fast.

do you guys rec i take my sat in november or october?

There is noway you need a 2300+ to get into Penn State. That is an extremely high score that would be on average with like Princeton and Harvard. Penn States average is around a 1900. A good friend of mine is now a soph there and got in with ECs near yours, maybe a little bit more and a 3.2 GPA and an 1850 on the SATs. IDK if you are a Pennsylvania resident but that really increases your odds aswell. Its a good school but you don’t need stellar grades to get in. Apply early and rolling admins will help you aswell. Goodluck, i’m applying there aswell, but its more of a fallback for me. Its too far in the country for my liking.

Your unweighted is 3.02 - do you know what your weighted is cause they take weighted. It is 2/3 GPA & 1/3 SAT, that is why the bubble chart is hurting you with the GPA.

@12 - they are looking at the bubble chart. That is a pretty good indication of whether you will get in or not.

GOOD NEWS GUYS. My counselor said an error on my transcript literally screwed up my gpa and now i have a 3.2. our school does NOT WEIGHT and i am mad happy now cause my chances are just increasing. I am going in 2mrw again to ask about another issue with my transcript (they forgot to include my algebra hnrs class i took in eight grade which still counts towards my gpa).

Take your SAT in October! PA high schools always recommend October if you are applying to PSU, so the grades are reported-and-recorded before the Nov. 30 deadline
