How significant is this award? I know my PSAT was in the top 2.5% of African Americans, but there is not much info on any scholarships or benefits from this award?
https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/scholarships-and-recognition/recognition-programs describes it.
Some colleges may attach scholarship money to having this award (much like some attach money to National Merit, Hispanic Recognition, or the former National Achievement), but since this award looks fairly new, it may not be on as many colleges’ radar as the others that have been around for a while.
Example of such a scholarship:

I hope this new designation gains traction in the scholarship money arena. I’m hoping my D24 is prepared enough to earn the designation and the extra $ would be useful.
Although it’s probably pretty far in your college search by now, I know the University of Alabama is offering full tuition as well as the first year of room and board for any incoming freshman with this award.
