College Class of '13 for Rice

anyone waiting on Rice?? Any Early decisions got in?
This thread is for all seniors who applied to Rice!

anyone know when notification date is? the acceptance letter date forum says April 1st, but is that accurate?

I applied RD to Rice . Never got a likely letter but i heard that sometime towards the end of this week they might start releasing them

how many freshmen students are enrolled into the college each year?

Freshman class or Rice as a whole? The Freshman class is ~780

Wow, like the same as my high school class!

close to mine also (746) but my high school is actually bigger overall haha. what college do u guys wanna live in?

The incoming class for this year will actually be around 850 students. I'd recommend not becoming too attached to a particular college at this point in time, because you're going to love your college no matter where you are placed.

wow the class is actually smaller than my high school class
and yeah dorian_mode that's true but how could you not become obsessed with rice? it's perfect!

I think Dorian_Mode meant don't become obsessed with any particular res college within Rice since you don't know where you'll be placed. As for me, I REALLY like Martel, but if I go to Rice, I know I'll love living wherever I'm placed :)

Right on, acolombian.

sorry, my bad! :]

I can't exactly remember who said this, but last year the yield was 811, and admissions had predicted between 780-790 so yield was a little better than anticipated. This was someone in admissions in about June 2008.

I just got a viewbook saying the class of 850 new students..

does rice university accept students with 3.0 g.p.a-3.3 g.p.a

Rice is expanding...the tall skinny dean of admissions told me they are going to take 850ish

Nasir2009, I’m sure they have since they don’t have cut off GPAs or grades or scores. But i’m sure it is less likely to get in with a lower GPA than what the average GPA is for that freshman class.
