college comparison

Claremont Mckenna (CA) vs Swarthmore (PA) vs Haverford (PA)

Can anyone help me compare these schools?

Sorry for the "sound-bite" answer:

Swarthmore: One of the most intense, most intellectual schools in the country. Lots of budding PhDs. Very liberal.

Claremont McK: Think student body president, debate team. Very driven and directed pre-proprofessionally. Lots of pre-law, pre-Wall Street. Conservative by standards of LACs. A lot more partying going on here than Swat.

Haverford: Somewhere in between. Less intense than Swat, more intellectual, less pre-professional than Claremont.

All have pretty suburban locations. Campus buildings at Claremont not winning any architectural awards but it's probably 30 degrees warmer there now than out East. Claremont has poorer access to LA than Swat/Haverford do to Philly, but has more going on on-campus with the 5 college consortium. Not much overlap between Swat and Claremont in applicants - very different student body. Again, Haverford less "extreme" in personality.

it would really depend on what you are looking for in a school. otherwise one could go on at length about the schools and fill volumes without really telling you anything of interest to you

Yea. What would you like to major in? West or east coast? weather? Small or big? Party or not....what's up?

I plan on majoring in economics. I understand that CMC has a great economics department but also know that economics at most liberal arts colleges are good. I live in the east coast and would like to stay over here but do not limit myself in any way to geographic location. Any info about the schools graduate placement and overall academics (profs, difficulty, etc) would be helpful.
