I believe decisions are final and that an appeal letter will only consume some admissions officers time and make him somewhat annoyed by reading your letter. But if this is a way of dealing with anger then do it ;)

dear college/university,

plz o plz can i has admissionz?!

stephennn,

You’re admitted!

-UCSD

you see guys, appeal letters really do work!

Dear stephennn:

Yes you can has admissions but you will also need to has financial aid. Consequently, the Committee of Financial Aid has voted to give you a full scolarship. Congratulations!

Your sincerely,
The Admissions Office

An cheezburger, stephennn. You can has cheezburger too. :D

(Seriously, good luck Appellate.)

Good luck, OP. Honestly though if I were a college admissions officer I would be offended that a student I rejected is claiming that he knows how deserving he is of acceptance better than I do. Since when does the student set the criteria for admissions?

Appelate, I am sorry that these people are being so immature. I think it is great that you are taking the time to write an appeal letter to the college that you want to be at. It shows how interested you are, which is a good thing. Push for the things you want. Don’t let the other posters stop you.
One of my friend’s didn’t get into the school he originally wanted to, but he spent time writing letters and applying for re-interview and was able to get in for Spring semester.
Things like this are rare, I am aware, but do happen occasionally. Take Randy Pausch (if you haven’t heard of him look him up on youtube) for example, he didn’t get into Brown University–was on the wait list. In his book he says, “I called them up and they eventually decided that it was getting really annoying to have me call everyday so they let me in. At Carnegie Mellon I didn’t get into graduate school.” Because he worked hard he ended up getting his undergrad degree from Brown and did end up getting into CMU for grad school!
Good luck!

Thanks, DwightEisenhower. Actually, it kind of pains me to say this, but twelve of the fourteen colleges I applied to did not accept my application, while the other two may not be able to provide a sufficiently large financial aid package. I figure that an appeal can only help in this situation, so hey, why not give it a shot? :D

Ahh, there’s no harm done in a little fun. :)

Thank you for the heartfelt support and advice. Although I probably won’t resort to annoying the admissions committee into submission, it’s nice to hear that these sorts of things do have a meaningful purpose and even a chance of working out in the end, however small this chance may be.

i was just having fun. i seriously wish you the best of luck with your appeal letter. =D
