If the 86 year old coach can make comments against a team and the coach then he should not get slack just because of his age. Lou Holtz said that Ryan day teams canāt win because they are not tough or Physical. Ryan Day was fired up and praised his team as being tough and physical while calling out Lou Holtz. Honestly, I see this as a non issue.
If only they could both loseā¦
I prefer to take the positive sideā¦.
If only they both could win ā¦ā¦
Itās definitely a non-issue and it looks like Day is a petty little person. Who cares what an 86-year old former coach says.
Ryan Day should show more class and focus his efforts on the field, because if he loses to Michigan a 3rd time in a row, heāll likely get canned.
The Oregon coach had his own petty moment yesterday.
I think being petty is an occupational hazard when being a head football coach
let me tell you from the perspective of a casual Penn State fan ā deferring to elderly coaches is not always the winning strategy. Holtz should keep his opinions to himself or be treated like any other armchair quarterback.
Just MO, but if youāre going to be petty, get petty to the team on the other side of the field. Like Lanning, the Oregon coach. Not some old coach who hasnāt seen the field in 25-30 years.
I guess if the 88-year old Lee Corso is being attacked for his opinion, might as well take on Lou Holtz.
Seems like such a waste of time and energy. But you āplay for clicksā (Lanning quote) to be relevant.
At least we know Ohio Stateās 11 players on the field were better than NDās 10 players on the field for the last two plays of the game.
I donāt see it as Petty at all. He was fired up and trying to get his team fired up!!!
I guess if you feel Holtzās opinion actually matters. I donāt.
To me, if you need an opinion of 86-year old couch potato for more motivation than just playing a night game at ND, between two Top 10 teams, then thatās just sad to me.
Itās just sports!
Lou has become somewhat nutty in his old age, but it does seem like Ohio State has dropped off a bit from when Urban was coaching.
Michigan pulls a-head. Literally. Incredible play.
GO BLUE!
Hook 'em
I hope Dukeās QB is alright, he was shown on crutches leaving the field. I had to wince when they showed his ankle bending. Having said that, I enjoyed the disappointment on the faces of the Duke fans. Go Irish!
Michigan looked a lot more like Michigan again. The running game isnāt producing the big gains like prior years, but Nebraska runs an oddball 3-3-5 defense. Go Blue!
I left the USC-CU game with USC up 21-0 and after finishing my workout the final score was 48-41? USC needs some defense.
I am scared for tomorrow. A lot of analysts say my team should be no. 1. YIKES!
ETA: And weāre getting College Game Day!
CU found a running game, and a freshman who caught his first pass for 65 yards in the third quarter. That was with CU not having two of its best players, Shilo Sanders and Travis Hunter.
USC was without starting S Max WIlliams and also one of its top offensive weapons, WR and returner Zachariah Branch.
FWIW, Branch has scored 4 touchdowns in his first 3 career games and had a 5th score called back last week at Arizona State. He is the first player this season with a receiving, punt return and kick return touchdown.
Injuries happen to all teams. Iām a Michigan fan. See Blake Corum and the OSU game last season.
