I’m not saying that it’s a big deal or anything–those posts combined have wasted maybe 30 seconds of my life now. It’s certainly not something that I’m going to cry about.
But I don’t think it’s too much to ask for -some- non-superficial information. On many message boards, members deride posts that simply state simple facts, or anything that could be found online in less than 10 seconds through Google or another relevant website. Obviously, since this is CC and not a website dedicated to college football, that doesn’t necessarily apply, but ranking/scores facts about a team just mean absolutely nothing to people who aren’t fans of that team–a tiny tiny bit of deeper information or analysis or personal reaction makes it infinitely more interesting to non-fans.

And there, I’ve wasted more time writing this post than I will on ever reading useless posts. You win?

On a more related note: are there any teams that you think are really overrated/overranked as of now? I’m personally just waiting for Wisconsin to lose…

I expected more “USC overrated” posts after Washington, but I guess with the pac-10 showing their strength we’ll have less of that now…

Certainly lost in the giant mess of mistakes that USC committed was an impressive defensive effort that, for most respects, shut down the washington offense and held them to 3 earned-offensive points (the 21 other points were from a fumble deep in USC territory, interception returned for touchdown, and blocked punt)

edit: I’m just waiting for LSU to lose also. Last week I was convinced Florida would beat them, but now that seems less likely. But I still hope they’ll fall in time for #1 USC to play #2 Cal :)

Wisconsin is dangerously overrated, Ohio State a little bit (had a good win over Washington), so is Boston College. But Wisconsin’s house of cards will collapse soon.

Based on last year’s record (12-1)and returning players UW was ranked about right. So far a few of the replacements of Defense have not been as good as expected and the D is giving up too many points. The offense is fine with a good QB (better than last year’s) and all the other key players back at RB and ends paying well. Kicking game is excellent. So if about 4 players on D finally get the hang of things and play decently UW could win all but maybe one remaining game, If not it could be 3 losses or so. All four players in question are sophs playing their first season as starters. The could get much better–or not. Time will tell.

I think USC loses at least one this season…the Pac-10’s strong enough this year that going undefeated would need some luck. ASU, Cal, Oregon, and UCLA are all tough…

on the other hand, having both of our good quarterbacks out on injury is destroying us (UCLA), we’re getting our ass handed to us by F—ing Notre Dame!!
