When I was deciding which college to go to, I had a tough time choosing between 2. I have now realized that I chose the wrong one for me on many levels. I really want to transfer to my other choice. The problem is, though, that my first semester this freshman year, my GPA was 2.6. In high school, I had a 4.1 GPA, but this first semester in my current college was really rough for me. The college I want to transfer to already accepted me last year as a freshman. How badly do you think my college GPA will hurt me?

It really depends on which college you’re attending and which college you are looking forward to attending. It also depends on if you took some of the prereq classes for your major. If so and you didn’t do well on them, it will impact your acceptance into the school. You might have a slight advantage to other applicants since you have been accepted previously but it really varies for transfers as some schools do not ask for high school stats for transfers.
