2140 SAT, 33 ACT. 3.73 Weighted 3.6 UW GPA (4.0 scale, Jericho High School which is a top public in NY)

My EC's are pretty good I did research in the lab this summer, won 1st place policy debate toruney i have a couple PR positions on clubs, i did overseas volunteering, student tutoring, NHS,

I really like Neuroscience or something bio/psych related. Want to go into dental school

I don't apply for FA. Money isn't a HUGE issue but I'd obviously like some cheaper schools as well

What are some safety, target, and reach schools for me?

also any good dental programs that could fit me .

I'm also male middle eastern btw in ew york

thank you!

For safeties go to the financial aid forum and look at the full tuition scholarship threads.

need more broooooooo

Are you just deciding NOW that you need to start thinking about this?!

I’d feel a bit better if it were your parents telling me money is no issue. Make sure you talk to them about what they’re willing to contribute. Then run the net price calculator at each school of interest and see what the schools think your family should contribute. Adjust your intentions accordingly.

On the upside, you’re in a great area for colleges and universities and with your scores and GPA you can find a lot of good neurosci/bio/predental programs. The Ivies and their kind are long shots, but almost all the rest are in play. It would help to have a little more information from you about preferences for near or far, big or small, private or state, football or frisbee, etc. You’re definitely late getting started and there are some big app dates coming up 12/1, 12/15, 1/1, and 1/15, so you’ll have to get it in gear now.

Not super duper selective or anything, so you’d be like in the 90 something percentile of students, but UoP specializes in Dentistry o_o My friend who’s wanted to be a Dentist for like 7 years is planning to go there.

I actually feel like everything around me has at least some major flaws. I don’t have a ton of preferences. My biggest one is just a vibrant community filled with activities and social gatherings. Size and school type doesn’t matter to me. I would like to stay in the Northeast-MidAtlantic region but 2 of my favorite school happen to be way out of the way (Emory and Michigan). I want to play intramural basketball, and it would be awesome to go to a big D1 school, but academics and sports don’t correlate well in the northeast it seems and academics is defiantly the bigger priority. I’d also prefer to avoid Vanillaova or other places with EXTREMELY little diversity.

lol isn’t Emory a DIII school?

Safeties: Ohio State U, Penn State, Indiana U (all Big 10 schools that are still academically reputable)
Targets: U Michigan, U Virginia, U Rochester (academically you’re just a tad above their middle 50 with test scores)
Reaches: U Penn, Cornell, Northwestern (reaches for everyone, but you should look into these for their academic and athletic programs)

Good luck!

what a good list, college panics. what do you think of those, OP?

Yeah go for Emory you’d probably be a pretty good EDII candidate with your scores and you’d have until January 1st to do it (which is plenty of time) if you really wanted to go there. I only say EDII and not RD because of your GPA and the fact that a huge portion of the class comes from ED. But, as a poster mentioned above, Emory is a D3 school so if you’re keen on being at a D1 with football and the likes I don’t know if Emory would be the right fit.
