<p>Are the students at your college ''mature''. Meaning they don't make stupid jeers about one's race, and show respect toward their professors?
I am sick and tired of the ignorant, immature,exasperating high school students' I come across on a day to day basis.</p>

for the most part, they're respectful towards professors. </p>
<p>for the most part, there's a huge difference between high school students and college students.</p>

<p>Jokes about racial stereotypes, especially when made by people of that race, will always be funny. I don't care how mature you are.</p>

<p>The people at the cc I go to for some classes, in my experience, are less mature than the high school kids in my classes. Not sure what to think of that, though.</p>

<p>Call me insensitive or whatever, I don't care. But jokes on 9/11, Virginia Tech, Columbine, sex scandals, goatse, tubgirl, racial jokes and whatever => I find them all funny. That's why I read Encyclopedia Dramatica so much. That's also why I read xoxo<em>hth from time to time (oh BTW, if you ever go to xoxo</em>hth, note that most of the people there are prospective or current law students. At the time of the Virginia Tech massacre, the boards were FLOODED with comments about Virginia Tech/Cho/etc for around 3 days. Yes, law students can be that immature too). That doesn't necessarily mean that I'm immature in OTHER contexts. If anything, it just means that I'm not particularly concerned with political correctness or "sensitivity". I don't even contribute to any of those "insensitive" remarks. I just find insensitive remarks funny. That's all.</p>
<p>Points notwithstanding, I have other more thoughtful interests. At least my amusement thresholds aren't restricted to immature behaviors, as they do seem to be for a lot of teenagers who are so immature that they regularly get in trouble with the law (and actually a substantial number of the male population does get locked up behind bars at one time or another).</p>
<p>I have heard of rusell peters, but have unfortunately not heard a lot of his stuff. I will watch it like over winter break etc.</p>
<p>I sure hope college students aren't mature...I'll feel left out. I already feel kind of left out because I'm not as socially/emotionally mature as most of my high school classmates.</p>
