"College Level"?

I posted about this a while ago but didn’t receive any replies…I want to take a college level course in Physics and Chemistry next year but it’s not AP. It was called AP last year but now they’re calling it College Level. For example, if I get a 4 or 5 on my AP test for Bio I get credits for college. But how does that work for my situation of “College Level”? Is there a test that colleges give and see if I get credit or what??

Just take the AP exam anyway.

I'd suggest that you just take the AP exam anyway, by asking your school about it. I'd bet that's what they were planning on doing anyway.

My district, for example hasn't licensed Stat as an AP class, but they still do the AP material and then some take the AP.

You don't need to take an "AP" class to take the AP test.

I think you should just take the AP exam anyway.

Our principal was saying something about the teacher needing certain credentials to officially call the class AP. It might be some issue like that.

Ohh, ok. I didn't know I could still take the AP test. Sweet. Thanks. :)

Anybody can take AP tests. That is why most people on CC self-study AP exams.

Yeah, do the AP tests after the courses

Most people here self-study? Really?

i wouldnt say most people self study. its just an option for people whos schools dont offer that particular ap class

Yeah, I know a handful who've done it, even though I'm fortunate enough to attend a high school where almost every AP course is offered. I was just surprised that 51+% of the people here self-studied to take AP exams. I didn't realize it was that widespread.

camarolover, there was an AP audit last year, and teachers had to turn in their syllabuses to make sure that they deserved to be called AP classes. but it sounds like your teachers may have failed the first audit. check out this website and you can find out for sure. if your class didn't pass, it isn't a huge deal; as long as you have a prep book, i bet you could pass the AP test. a couple of my AP classes didn't end up passing, but i took the AP tests and did fine.

Yeah it's not there for sure. I mean, when they were called AP classes my friends taking the classes took the AP tests and got 4's and 5's so they teach the right stuff.

But yeah, I'm going to take the tests. Thanks for the info guys.
