I know when you apply to the Business school you need to choose a major, however what if you are not dead set on that choice and decide to change after freshman year. Assuming you get admitted to Finance, for instance, is it easy to change your major after freshman year to say Accounting? It is really hard to decide September of your Senior year what your major will be and stick to it?

Also, if you apply to Finance and get rejected for that major will they consider you for other majors in Business or only consider you for DGS?

You are incorrect. You do not choose a major when applying to businees college and all freshman are admitted without a designated major as “business unassigned.” Thus, if rejected business, you are then considered for another college, most likely DGS.

You don’t have to decide you major until the end of Sophomore year. Once you tell the office you are pretty much set. You can still change if you want to as long as you are taking similar course. i.e. I am a finance major but I pretty much take all the accounting courses. Where as…if you want to change from marketing to finance that would be tough if you change it after junior year because you are not taking the same type of core courses after sophomore year. I know some people who changed their junior year from double majoring Finance and Accounting to just accounting or finance. It is flexible once you are in the college of business…you don’t really have to worry. if you are rejected from business college you are back in DGS, but if you are worried about getting stuck in DGS you could apply to other colleges such as LAS at the same time you apply for business (and you can get a business minor).
