I received ELC status and a postcard stating that I have guaranteed acceptance to UCSB. Yay. But I noticed that CCS has a separate application. Let's say I don't get into CSS at UCSB (fyi, it's for a math major), will I still get accepted to UCSB in let's say, the college of letters and science (as a pre-math major)?

Yes, you will be in the College of L&S if you don’t get into CCS…Actually one of my friends applied to UCSB and did the separate application to CCS at the same time. Well CCS called him about two weeks later and said he had been accepted into CCS, but he still wouldn’t know if he had been accepted to the University for 3 months lol. It was pretty funny for a while until he received his acceptance letter from UCSB. I guess CCS runs things separately than the University.

whew, that’s good. UCSB is my only safety lol and also, it says that the deadline for CSS is February 1st for math applicants…is that for freshman too, or just for people already in UCSB? I only recently heard of CSS and wouldn’t want to stress my teachers for a letter of rec by the November 30th deadline for UCs if the February 1st date is correct

Yes I believe the due date for the freshman CCS app is February 1st. I know for sure that you don’t need to get the CCS app in by November 30th, so that should give you some time to gather your teacher recs and any other things you need for the CCS app. You can email a CCS advisor if you have any more questions. Oh and BTW you made a good choice by applying to CCS at UCSB because they offer a world class education and it is well worth the public school price. Good luck on all your apps!
