Hello. I’m looking for a particular kind of school that I seem to like. Can anyone think of a school that meets all/ some of the following criteria:
Setting: Suburban- A nice town immediately outside the campus (walkable) and then a short distance to a major city
Size: 3000+, but 5,000-18,000 would be ideal.
Location: Prefer Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. but open to other options.
Atmosphere: Big school spirit/ sports, non- dominant greek life, happy/ friendly students
My academics: 3.5 UW GPA in challenging school, 30 ACT (getting new scores in 2 days)
Major: Business- Undecided. A school with a strong business program would be great.
Campus: I like nice green spaces/ quads, beautiful landscaping.
Some of my top schools right now are Boston College, Villanova, and U of Richmond. This should help give you perspective. Ideally, I would like some suggestions that are very similar to these. If you can think of any schools that sound like this, then let me know. Thanks!
@“Erin’s Dad” The price of Boston College is about as high as my family wants to go. 65k is pushing it a bit, but still doable if it is worth it. Thanks for the suggestion. I will have a look.
@MidwestDad3 Thanks for your suggestions. I will look into them to see if they fit the criteria that I am looking for.
@lalalemma Villanova is one of my top schools that I am considering. I am happy that you mentioned it because it shows that it does match the criteria. However, since I already have that school on my list, can you think of any others that are very similar to that?
@happy1 Thanks for the suggestion. I will be sure to check it out. I think it would be easier to find a school that includes my preferences first than to find a school with a good business program first and then see if it matches the criteria.
@CaliCash Do you know any schools that are just like Northwestern but not as selective because as you can see, I do not think I would be a competitive candidate for the school.
