What songs(genre) do you listen to? How many songs do you have in all?

I seem to be listening to a lot of r&b as opposed to rock/alternative lately.

What songs(genre) do you listen to? How many songs do you have in all?

I seem to be listening to a lot of r&b as opposed to rock/alternative lately.

I used to listen to a lot of R&B and hip-hop, but after I came to college, it's been mostly rock. My library is about 500 songs, but rising.

EDIT: Oh, I'm also listening to reggaeton because one of my roommates is actively trying to convert me :)

lots of classic rock.

i have ~2500 songs

garrr! i am 100% with you. i love classic rock: floyd, zep, guns, hendrix, and others.

I'm a music geek, I listen to just about every genre. I managed to grow up on rap, R&B, and classic rock at the same time, and get more into jazz and foreign music once I got to college. It's not usual for my playlist to jump from Pink Floyd to Charles Mingus to Jay-Z to Michael Jackson to Giorgio Moroder. I have about 10,000 songs on my computer right now.

about 1,500 songs

lots of 80s rock, rap, techno

i have about 700 songs. I listen to anything, but the one thing i despise is music snobs... drives me nuts

I really like alternative hip-hop, like the roots, the fugees, lauryn hill... but I'm also really into lo-fi stuff, like neutral milk hotel and the 6ths.

I have around 3800 songs.

I listen to musicals, movie soundtracks, country, and some doo-wop for the most part. And I have probably about 4000 songs - is there a way to find out on windows media?

Trance, dance, house, anything electronic and European. I've got a whole library of it. Not into rock, rap, or anything mainstream at all. Haven't counted my library but I know it's a decent size.

I'm not good with genres...so I'll just say all kinds of rock music.

I have 2155 songs in my iTunes library now, but I have a lot of music left to add (so I don't know a total number or anything).

Widespread Panic is the best band touring.

But you've probably never heard of them.

i have 953 songs...a HUGE mix of genres--basically everything but techno

i listen to everything. from hip hop to rock to acoustic to god knows what.

about 2800 songs on my computer, from jay-z, to the postal service, head automatica, miles davis, jamie lidell, rilo kiley...etc etc. i even have
'bad" music-paris hilton to kevin federline to panic! at the disco. i hate music snobs; i just listen to what i like

techno's not THAT bad. but then again, my laptop's techno is mostly from dance dance revolution, so i may just be a weirdo

i have about 7800 songs on my computer, not counting maybe 70+ CDs that i haven't ripped to my computer and maybe a couple hundred that iTunes can't find (because i use Winamp more when possible). when i can, i keep my MP3s/AAC files at at least 160kbps and 192kbps desired, so it takes up a generous portion of my hard drive. believe it or not, i've listened to the good majority of it over the last maybe 6 years, but i still have to get to a lot of what my friends have given me recently.

as far as genres go...my largest is probably Alternative/Indie/Punk/Post-Punk. for alternative/indie, some of my favs are Ted Leo, Super Furry Animals, Arcade Fire, Of Montreal. by punk, i mean good stuff from the 70s and 80s...The Damned (who i just saw), X, Wire, Gang of Four, Dead Boys, and also some "modernish" punk like Bad Religion and Social D.

i have a little hip hop...mostly Mickey Avalon, Jurassic 5, and NWA :D some Electronica/Dance: Boards of Canada, Ladytron, Air, Caribou, Cut Copy...i also have a lot of Delta Blues (pre-WWII blues) and a little jazz (Coltrane, Monk).

my classical collection is fairly expansive and almost rivals the rest of my collection, from Beethoven's Early and Late Quartets, two different recordings of Bach's Cello Sonatas, Dvorak's Symphonies and Slavonic Dances, Rachmaninoff's Vespers, and chunks of other pieces...

Mostly alternative/indie rock (Broken Social Scene, Stars, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, Voxtrot, Elliott Smith, etc.), with some alternative hip-hop (ATCQ, Immortal Technique, Blue Scholars, Black Star, Kweli, Mos Def, etc.) and some other good stuff (Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Eagles, EltonJohnEltonJohnEltonJohn, Eric Clapton, etc.) thrown in.
4042 songs total.

Ambient electronic (ie. Moby and Aphex Twin), as well as classical. I have 2,343 songs.

There's some good music on this thread...I only have about 1000 songs and they're all getting old fast. I need more!

I've got about 3000 songs in my library. My taste of music is quite wide but at the moment I listen much to Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Creed and that kind of musik. After all my obvious favourites are Metallica.
