I got a copy of the book last year, and used it to prepare for SATs. The only problem is that I'm deciding to retake it in October, but I've already finished that book. Are there new editions of that book with new questions? Or am I better off trying to find other practice books instead?

Also, my retaking in October would mean that it would be my third retake (I haven't actually registered yet). I am currently on the verge of 2200 and I'm sure I would be able to raise my superscore with this next test. However, does taking it three times negatively influence admission officers of ivies and similar prestigious schools?

Buy the college board blue book for additional tests. Also, the latest (2nd and 3rd editions) 10 Real SATs replaced two 1994 tests with two tests from 2000, so if you can get a first edition 10 real SATs, you'll have two additional tests.

You can retake the test as many times as you want, so don't let that worry you. Just make sure you're improving by amounts that aren't attributable to simply "luck" (more than 30 points for each cr and math and more than 40 points for writing).

the red book is good for reading, sentence completion, and math, which are largely unchanged from the old test, despite the cb's claims. (the red book's math won't have any functions in it, but the new SAT's math doesn't really test functions anyway, even though it says it does.) there are also some practice writing mc's in the red book, but not enough to be useful. if you're out of blue book questions, i'd use the red book to practice before i went to a third-party source like pr.
