How do colleges look at NY State Regents scores? Where EVERY kid in the state takes it as their final. Some such as World History are easy with a favorable curve to the students, as opposed to Chemistry where 'good' can be in the 80's due to an extremely unfavorable curve. Do schools consider this?

There isn’t an equivalent to the Regents in other states, thus other states won’t care. That’s what SATs, ACTs, subject tests, and APs are for.

As for NYS schools, they’ll be familiar with the tests and the curves, so will be able to interpret your scores.

The regents exams are a joke. Unless you fail it colleges won’t place much, if any, consideration into them. Much more important is your grade in the class.

Yea, as others have said, they’re not paid too much attention to by colleges outside of NY.

I had some pretty sad scores in the sciences and math, but it didn’t really hold me back much…

Unless your HS rolls the Regents score in to your end of year grade for the course.

My school DOES count the regents as a final exam.
