Colleges I can make it into

I have a 4.0 unweighed GPA (probably Validictorian next year)
my SAT scores are 490 reading, 520 writing, and 590 math
I am a hard working Junior and will be taking four AP classes and tests next year
I play the Cello, won my county competition, got third for Solo and Ensamble for Southern Oregon
I also play the piano, but not as much
I am an officer in my school's National Honor Society

What is the highest level of colleges I have a chance of getting into? Ivy League? or just state schools?

did you study for your SAT? Did you take the ACT? Low score for IVY

Not enough info and probably not ivies with a 1600 (CR+M+W) SAT.

Take the ACT

Can someone say grade inflation?

Get a 33+ on the ACT or 2200+ on the SAT, so you’re safe. I’m not sure if you’re Ivy League material, but there’s a good chance you can get into great schools. Maybe the UCs?

That grade inflation…

Look at test optional schools.

Do tell me how many honors and AP classes have you taken? I shall be most surprised if you have taken more than 6 AP classes by the end of junior year.

Colleges know that all high schools are different. That’s why the have the SAT—it’s an extension of your high school grades essentially. Everyone is graded the same way on the SAT’s. For someone to do poorly in highschool and to do well on the SAT could show the person doesn’t work hard OR if this trend occurred often at that high school then it shows that high school might be more rigorous. For someone to do great in high school but poorly on the SAT’s could show that the kid’s highschool is well easier than others. The trick is to do well on both so colleges don’t have to question why the kid’s grades are low or why his SAT’s are low. So the fact that you are going to be a valedictorian helps majorly, but can be struck down easily by ivy’s with that SAT score. If you were a resident of California then you’d have a decent chance at some of the UC schools. But since you are out of state, I dont see that you have a chance, yet. You have the summer to study for the next SAT. If you focus you can do well I’m sure! Good luck

No way you’re getting into Ivy League with a 1600, sorry.
