As of Friday, Indiana University-Bloomington’s admissions office said, “it is unlikely that we will be going to our waitlist this year”.

Has anyone heard back from Amherst or Northwestern regarding the WL?

So all these schools that are saying no already…they must be pretty well overenrolled? I can’t imagine schools would be definitively saying no WL if they’re a handful over, since they tend to loose students over the summer to other wait lists…

are you 100% sure UMichigan isnt going to their waitlist this year?!?!?!?!

Has anyone heard anything about cornell?

I have experienced things such as an Ivy calling up in the last week of August offering a spot from the waitlist with a February admit and no guarantee of housing on campus.

By then, the student was packing for a top LAC and didn’t want to be emotionally derailed, so just said “no.”

^^^ditto University of Wisconsin@ Madison; friend’s son was already at his school…ended up transferring in after a semester though (actually asked about that when the offer came in)

Not looking good for WL activity. Projected class size was 1100-1140.

“A total of 1,187 students — 55 percent of the students who received admission to the College this spring — accepted Dartmouth’s admission offer by the May 1 decision deadline”

“Because of this year’s unusually high yield, any wait list activity will be very limited”

Bumping up for a pal.

And one more time to make sure it’s easy to find.

Looks like Kenyon is pretty full. Not sure what this means for the waitlist.

Add Amherst; a friend WL’ed there called today.

Son WL’ed at Tufts. Admissions counselor e-mailed him yesterday and said “highly unlikely” they will be going to their waitlist this year. Accepting a smalled frosh class and it’s already filled. Very unhappy since mom is a tufts graduate. Guess it’s off to BC in the fall.
